Field Knife and Butchering

I use a wiebe replaceable blade knife (similar to havalon) and for blade replacement the pliers on a Leatherman works well, you won't cut part of your finger off that way

I have tried a bunch of stuff. Fixed,folded,replaceable.....and these are my favorites to actually use. That benchmade became my favorite fixed.
The gerber is hard to beat for the money. And the other tool isn't a must but it's light and is so much faster for me to open a hide. 20260109_104722.jpg

I use different knives depending on what I'm doing. A homemade one for general use, a Mora Guardian for just gutting if I'm taking the deer to the processor, and a Victorinox boning knife if I'm doing the work at home.

I'd recommend a thin bladed Magnacut steel knife, and use a Siembida Field Steel to touch up the blade.

I used a new North Arm Lynx in magnacut for the first time this year. Super impressed with the edge holding ability. Field dressed 2 whitetail bucks, skinned them, quartered and deboned both and it’s still hair shaving sharp.
