I am considering trying this factory load in a Tikka T3 300 WSM.

I have no experience with Berger bullets and thought maybe one of you fellows had tried this load in a Tikka. I have been shooting the 180 AccuBond but I am having a hard time finding them in stock at any of my usual sources...

I know there are plenty of Tikka shooters on RS and am hoping for some opinions before I spend the money on a blind gamble. Thanks

I grabbed some for my Tikka to try out, different caliber though. So far it shot really well, a hair over an inch for 10 shots. Overall, factory stuff using Berger bullets whether it’s been HSM or Federal have shot well for my Tikkas.

The Federal stuff I used was 135gr for a 6.5CM. It’s definitely worth a test for your rifle.

Most bullets are designed to perform well at .308 impact velocities. Just about anything will work on whitetail. I am a big fan of Nosler Accubond bullets though, and they are factory loaded in .308 by several manufacturers (including Nosler Custom). They seem to shoot in just about every rifle. The 150 gr. loading would be just about perfect.

Berger's shoot great when loaded to the lands. But the magazine doesn't allow that on your tikka. I would just find the nosler trophy grade and stock up. My tikka .300wsm shoots them better than I can reload them.

The new berger hybrid hunters are not supposed to be as seating depth sensitive. While I do shoot a sako 300 wsm and reload for a tikka 300 wsm, I've not shot that particular ammo. My guess is it shoots well or they'd not bother offering it. If you can find some info online about guys who load them and the accuracy they've achieved that might help. I believe that particular bullet is fairly new. Let us know if you try them.

I appreciate your suggestion; which bullet in the Nosler Trophy Grade does your Tikka prefer? Thanks

I went ahead and bought some of the Federals in the link posted above.
In my T3 with Zeiss HD5 3-15 x 50 scope and Talley rings
Bi-pod with mono-pod at rear of stock; shooting off concrete bench, 40 degrees and no wind for the most part

Three shots in 1.7 inches at 300 yards

"Tupperware" stock, pillar bedded with Mountain Tactical bottom metal and upgraded trigger spring to help lighten the pull a bit....

I think I could do better with more practice. Just shooting at a public range with braked rifles messes with my concentration a bunch. Still, pretty good performance for factory loads IMO.
Just thought I would pass this along.
