I'd like for a company like kuiu to copy prana with an included lightweight "belt" but one that actually holds all day. Maybe even have material with holes like their Gaiters. That'd be a win. No need for hunting pants to have an additional belt

I agree with you on this, I love this idea/feature. The built in Prana belt never stays put for me but I love the idea of it if it were better executed. I used to have a pair of older style Sitka Timberlines with a built in belt. Looks like the newer models don't have that feature.

Had a pair of kryptek pants with ankle pockets. And they were fairly loose fitting pants. Anything I stuck in there would flop around and punch me in the ankle with every step. I mean what's the point?

The tiny arm pockets on kuiu stuff are pretty useless. However I don’t mind a chest pocket.

I find the arm pockets useful for a bugle reed. Otherwise I dont find myself using them for anything else.

It's interesting to see what people prefer. While I've never once used an arm pocket, I love having thumb holes in my base and mid layers and a good chunk of you don't like them.

I could see that if I didn't have the bino harness. Keep most things i use in those pockets. Ive never used the sleeve pockets on anything. Some mountain bike shorts have the "cargo" pocket done right. It actually sits a bit in the front or back, not on the side and is very small so you can keep the phone in there and it doesnt' flop around. for hunting I normally just keep it in a front pocket in my pants or hip belt pocket on my pack.

I've been a hood hater for a long time but I think I'm coming around. BUT, you definitely have to be diligent in not hood stacking. Nothing as glorious as putting on a bino harness while wearing 3 hooded garments.

Lower right calf/ankle pocket on my uniform pants is for dip. Otherwise I agree.

I like the chest pocket, on a shirt or jacket. I often put my sunglasses in there because I figure it’s a safer spot to prevent me from crushing them.

Chest pocket can be used if it’s big enough. The tiny one on a base layer is pointless (kuiu merino) but one that can hold a range finder (most Sitka mid layers) are handy.

Features of outdoor/hunting clothes and gear that I would rejoice if they never existed:

• Built-in face mask/mitts/etc. That's what the pockets are for. At checkout, I dont think I selected the "please sew accessory garments into strange places on my jacket that will make me sweat and look awkwardly bulging during the 99% of the time I'm not wearing them" option.
• soft/fuzzy liners (chin esp.) on rain jackets. I dont think I selected the "useless crap to get more soaking wet than I already am" option?? Bonus points when it also freezes--yay, snotcicles frozen to my beard!
• internal cuffs/gaiters/guantlets etc on rain gear made from fabric that absorbs water. I definitely did not select the "please add functionality to wick water directly into my socks and inner layers while I'm getting rained on" option.
• arm pockets, unless I need a lift-ticket to go hunting. Cereally, what do people put in there that isnt more easily accessible from a garment that wont get put on and taken off every hour as I'm moving? Do you really need a special pocket for your weed?
• velcro patch-panels for "morale patches" or unit patches or whatever.
• non-breatheable softshell jackets and pants in general. "It's not waterproof, but at least it's not breatheable. Or light. Or packable."
• holes through garments for routing a tree stand harness through. "lets make this as ineffective and difficult as possible to put on, take off, and generally use, while making it more or less useless for anything else, including other hunting"
• zippers and pockets and adjustments perfectly positioned to create a pressure point directly under a pack hipbelt or strap, while being as inaccessible as possible. Great idea!

cargo pockets on pants are totally useless to me. Same with sleeve pockets, and drawstrings on hoodies. I do like the built in belt on my pranas. That is a system everyone should copy.

Take a look at the TUSX range. All the pants have integrated webbing belts.
