Kuiu tiburon until it drops below 70, then I switch to Zions. I'm in Texas, so the Zions haven't been worn since early March.

For casual I typically wear jeans to work everyday. Lately I've been wearing Luckys and Hudsons. Both are very comfortable and slim fitting with some stretch and look nice. For hunting it's tough to beat Kuiu pants. Chinook, Attack, Alpine, they're all good. I own some Prana Zions and I'll wear them hiking or scouting sometimes, but for hunting the Kuiu pants beat them hands down imo.

Sounds like maybe they sent you different pants by mistake or something? Zions only have one cargo pocket and its on the side of the left leg. Or maybe you got a pair that were jacked up. I have a chama like that where the thumb hole is on the outside of the sleeve

For me the zions are my favorite so far. I haven't tried very many different pants just because they fit me so well. I wear them for everyday use and for hunting. I have 4 or 5 pairs. The only thing I dont like is that I have a hard time finding the darker colors I prefer on sale.

You're right, they only have the one cargo pocket. I bought 3 pairs at the same time. IIRC, the corner of the pocket came across to the front on my leg at about the knee. They seemed to be made into the pants and not added to the outside of the pants. Putting something in the pocket made the pants even tighter. I like a looser fit in a pant. I like wearing a belt and I prefer a pant with more belt loops. And that goofy little belt on the front. They had too many things that I didn't like about them for me to keep them.

But, on the bright side, that means that there'll be more for everyone else. Lol

I love my Kuhl Renegades. I've had them for several years and unfortunately snagged them on a some metal the other day and tore a hole in them. I was blessed with a REI gift card for $150 last night and was planning on ordering two more pair of Kuhls. I haven't tried the Pranas so I may head up to REI and try some on before I place an online order. I did try on some REI Screeline pants at REI and they were pretty nice also. They have the same 88/12 % of Nylon/Spandex like the Kuhls. The waist of the Screelines are also taller to give you a little more protection from a pack. I doubt I will find anything I like better than the Kuhls as far as a hiking pant.

for warmer weather- Patagonia Rock Guides (the name keeps changing, not sure what they are called now)- a lightweight 4 way stretch pant- a Schoeller like material (or possibly is a Schoeller?), breathe well, fit is perfect and the DWR is very good- I have a couple pairs

cooler weather- Filson whipcord pants- the tight weave nicely bucks wind/weather, but still breathes well while providing good warmth- I usually adjust the warmth factor by changing my base layer with these- I've worn these from 50's (with just merino boxers) to 0's with expedition weight base layers; very sadly no longer made :(

After all the discussion here about the Zions, I picked up a pair and I have to admit, they are really comfortable pants. They should work well with a good base layer for mid to late season hunts. To me, the fabric seems nearly identical to Cabela's trekking pants in both weight, feel and stretchability. The fabric on the Zions show to be 97% nylon and 3% spandex while the trekking pants are 96% nylon and 4% spandex. The Zions seem to be cut just a little fuller. The pocket size and placement are good on both, but I do like the zippered rear pockets and zippered lower leg on the trekking pants. The knee and crotch articulation on both are very similar as well. I do like the button cuff andbelt feature on the Zions. Both are great pants.

Mountain Hardwear Piero pants are pretty awesome as well. You can pick em up on ebay for like 30 bucks. They have an older carpenter pant and a newer version that is cut like jeans. Stretch Nylon canvas. I cant seem to rip them.

I was wearing the Kuhl Renegades and like them a lot. They seem kind of noisy until you break them in. This summer I bought a pair of Prana Zions and a pair of the Sitka Mountain pants. The Zions are my favorite anytime pant. I recently took advantage of the Backcountry sale and got a pair shipped to the house next day for $59. I haven't tried the mountain pants yet but will be fielding them in the next couple weeks.

A couple I like that haven't been mentioned are the Carhartt force extremes poly cotton blend with a small amount of 37.5 cocona in them. The other one is the Duluth dry on the fly flex pant 97% nylon with 3 % spandex. Plus, you can get both in a 36" inseam.

I've been running regular microtex for the last decade, and am still using my original pair, but I do own three pairs now. They are awesome in all aspects except that they are freaking burr magnets.

The older ones are -to me- much better

I own the Zions, Renegades, EB Guides & the Costco UB. I find the Costcos are my absolute favorite. They are comparable to the other 3 at 1/3 of the price. The Zions are a close second, but the pocket on the left is too small and poorly located. The EB Guide pants are cut small and they ride up my azz. The Kuhls are fine, but why spend the money when all you need to spend is $20? The cut is looser on the UB's as well...

Hunting wise, I have a Canadian made pair of the Kuiu Attacks that are my favorite. I had an Asian made pair, but sold them. There was a difference! I also wear the Cabelas Microtex. Actually, my go to pair for whitetail stand hunting is an old fleece Whitewater Outdoors Windstopper pant that is like 20 years old and still going strong. I couldn't replace them if I tried as I've never seen anything similar since I bought them all that time ago...

Kuiu chinook. Really really great pants, excellent DWR that sheds rain showers and dew, awesome pockets. Extremely comfortable. Some warmth but dumps heat great with hip vents. I have only wore them on one moose hunt but so far I think they are the perfect do all pants. For really warm weather they would be too warm and some nice light hiking pants would be a better choice. I have a pair of marmot pants for summer and really hot weather hunting use them but the chinooks for fall cool weather hunting.

I just completed 2 weeks of mountain elk hunting wearing Chinooks and I'm sold on them, Sitka Timberlines are my #2 now

I just picked up a pair of Vertx Delta pants. They're a cotton/spandex blend and extremely comfortable.
