Okay folks, I have recently discovered the absolute joy of owning and wearing Prana Zions. Now, I must say, they are prob the most comfortable pants I have ever worn. Well, pretty damn close. I love the stretchy material. I caught them on sale at Backcountry.com and have since bought another pair when they went on sale. I have started venturing in to wearing Backpacking pants more and more and ditching the Levis and other cotton pants all together. From work to the gym or out in hte field. they are great. I just wore the Pranas on a recent hunt and they performed awesome. So I would like to hear some of your favorites. Not just for hunting or backpacking, but for wearing on all occasions. I just bought a pair of Kuhl Renegades and love them as well. Im not thrilled on the pocket zipper placement on them tho, they seem backwards to me. So, any other recommendations? I like to keep it affordable, I don't mind paying the money, if they are worth it and have multi uses. What are you wearing?

Outdoor research Voodoo are really nice. I picked up a pair for hiking after seeing a review. I love the Zions and Renegades as well though and wear them every day at work. Your right, the zions are amazing.

I wear Kuhl Renegades to work most days (engineer, office environment).

For outdoors and hunting it's First Lite Knabs or Currugate in mild to cool weather. If I'm hoofing it alot, prefer the Currugate for their lightweight and stretch. If sitting or cooler I prefer the Knabs. Each layered with merino underneath as weather requires.

Gonna have to check out those Pranab Zions. I've heard good things about them.

I like the Prana Zions but not for hunting as alot of hiking causes chaffing with the air vents in the crotch. The Eddie Bauer Guide pants are similar but not quite as comfortable to me. The one pair of pants that passes both of them are the Kuiu Attacks for me. Try the Prana stretchy jeans too if you wear jeans they will blow your mind with how comfortable and nonrestrictive they are compared to traditional jeans.

My favorite hiking pants that I use for hunting are Cabela's Trekking Pants and for colder weather, Mountain Hardwear Yumalino pants. The Yumalino's are very stretchy and are fleece lined. They are without a doubt the most comfortable pants I've worn but can't speak to their durability yet. Just wish I had them for last year's CO Elk hunt.

I recently wore the trekking pants on a bow hunt and I was really pleased with both comfort and durability. I got hung up in a blackberry patch and they come out without a tear or frayed thread. I can't say the same for me.

Mine used to be the old REI pant made with that Schoeller Dynamic fabric. I still remember backpacking into a spot my buddies were horse packed into the Weiminuche Wilderness 9 miles and it was pouring rain for the first 5 miles...then snowing hard for the rest. That was a miserable wet year during early archery with those being my only pant...and they were awesome. I would buy anything Schoeller [sp?] again.

Currently my favorite depends on the conditions. The Sitka Ascents are my fav for avg temps in early season Aug-Sept...with the Kuiu Attacks #2.

Hard to beat those Sitka mtn pants for a little bit colder conditions.

And of course every pant benefits greatly by a refresh or treatment in the Softshell Pruf by nikwax.....refreshing the DWR coating on stuff like the Mtn pant....and significantly adding to the performance of pants like the Cabelas microtex.

Kuiu chinook. Really really great pants, excellent DWR that sheds rain showers and dew, awesome pockets. Extremely comfortable. Some warmth but dumps heat great with hip vents. I have only wore them on one moose hunt but so far I think they are the perfect do all pants. For really warm weather they would be too warm and some nice light hiking pants would be a better choice. I have a pair of marmot pants for summer and really hot weather hunting use them but the chinooks for fall cool weather hunting.

Not cheap, but Outlier Slim Dungarees are hands down my favorite pants. Had them for a few years and they've held up great. Made in the USA. Slim cut, tough material, gusseted crotch, DWR exterior, and when they do get soaked they dry super quick. I wear them for scouting or under waders for waterfowl, and they transition very well between field and office. Unfortunately they don't have any brown or green colors.

Also love my Corrugate Guides. Those I wouldn't wear except for hunting because of the blaze orange branding.

I bought some Zions based off the reviews on here. I hated them. They weren't a loose enough fit for me and the cargo pockets are positioned toward the front of the leg, instead of the side. I wound up wearing my Cabela's brand bdu style pants with a 60/40 blend. It snowed several inches and there were lots of blow downs in our area. I didn't have any issues with wearing these pants. I doubt I will ever buy anything else.

EB Guide Pros if it is warm - works well with a base layer as well
Sitka Timberlines for everything else

Like the Cabelas Microtex a lot too, but they fit a little weird - I was able to have my Grandma (My seamstress :) take up the crotch and hem the legs - much improved after those two changes.

Take up the crotch? You mean like on the EB pants where your junk is in your abdominal cavity after putting them on? My Microtex pants both Lite and regular fit absolutely perfectly. But I've had all mine for several years, and I have heard about how baggy they are these days.......so maybe they are. Those EB pants on the other hand might as well be skinny jeans. They're either made to be worn down low around the middle of your butt, or they're made for women.......haven't figured out which yet. Either way.......not a good fit.

Sounds like maybe they sent you different pants by mistake or something? Zions only have one cargo pocket and its on the side of the left leg. Or maybe you got a pair that were jacked up. I have a chama like that where the thumb hole is on the outside of the sleeve

For me the zions are my favorite so far. I haven't tried very many different pants just because they fit me so well. I wear them for everyday use and for hunting. I have 4 or 5 pairs. The only thing I dont like is that I have a hard time finding the darker colors I prefer on sale.

For hunting I like the Kryptek Alaios pants. I wear jeans to work every day and like wearing jeans. When not at work or hunting i wear shorts pretty much all the time. Even in the winter.

I'm a skinny guy and my EB guide pro pants fit and function great. I have 3 sets. I do prefer my FL Kanabs for hunting though.
