Recently had all of my tackle stolen from my vehicle. And today found out my storage unit was broken into with my wife's nice mountain bike, tool box full of tools, all of my reloading gear, and all of my backpacking/camping gear. I am beginning to really hate people.

Damn sorry to hear about it. Hopefully they catch them and recover some of your stuff. Just sucks but good karma gotta be heading your way sometime soon right?

Agreed to all of the above. At least it is only stuff and no harm to persons (except if I find the bastards). Wife is really bummed about her bike. Hoping the local sheriffs can use the many leads I have to actually help out!

Make sure you price it out way over the felony threshold ($1k in my state) in both cases. Had a loaded toolbox stolen off my property in a canyon on many acres a few years back... talk about big balls - with four kids at my house at the time, I would've started shooting site unseen if some bastard was in my one-way driveway.

Check with your homeowners insurance, some will cover up to a certain amount even if it was in a storage unit as long as it was locked. Not all do, but worth a shot

Unfortunately they don't cover anything outside the home, hell barely anything inside either unless a fire happens.

Ive had a bunch of stuff stolen multiple times from construction yards here inc a truck.

Around here the liberal politicians say “ there’s too many people in prison already” and they won’t even investigate the thefts.

I see in NY they dont have to post bail and back out stealing again.
What about the rights of working people? Dont we deserve the right to live without crooks hammering us all the time?

Made me buy some cheap digital cameras... Zomodo I think (Amazon) but wanting to upgrade soon. Only consolation is that a sorry sonuvabitch like that lives a miserable life and will eventually get his.

Cut their hand off, won’t take long until theft slows down. We cater more to the homeless than we do the folks that drop 3,000 hours of labor each year.

Man, in my opinion there ain't much worse then a thief. Had somebody break into my work truck while working on a job up in the mountains. Had to leave the truck parked, and use 4-wheelers to transport us, and material to the job site. Well, on returning that evening, somebody busted a window, and tried hot wiring the truck or something, I couldn't really tell. They left my ignition split in half, wireless control module was busted up, and they lifted about $1500 in power tools. So I put the ignition back together with zip ties. Electrical taped the wireless control module back together, I was sending up a prayer. To make it worse, with the wireless control busted up, it was damaged enough that it wasn't properly communicating with the key, so the car wouldn't run. It was start then stall out. It's a safety thing I was told, if your wireless control module doesn't recognize your key then that's what it was designed to do so somebody couldn't drive off with the car without the actual key. I ended up having to walk my ass off that mountain to get cell reception, and made two trips back, and forth with parts from 2 hours away before I actually realized the wireless control module was the problem. So I untaped it, retaped it back together in a different way, and it started right up, and has worked ever since. Between damaged property, stolen goods, and lost time it's hard to put a exact price on what they took from me. I even lost a customer due to canceling scheduled appointments because I couldn't make it because of the ordeal. So who knows how much money my family has lost from losing that customer. I hate a thief.

You have earned the right to pay taxes. Lots of them. Be thankful.

Get back to work.

I have had multiple work trucks broken into and stolen over the years. Always sucks, never get what the value is from the insurance company.
I had one theft that really pissed me off. I have a cabin in North Central Pa. I get up there on a Friday after work and discover someone had broken the broke in at the deck door. I didn't touch anything and called the Pa State Police.
The trooper refused to lift a fingerprint from the brand new polished brass doorknob at the door of entry. It was July and I doubt they had gloves on. The trooper claimed that it was probably just kids fooling around. That is when I lost it. $2,000.00 worth of stuff stolen is breaking and entering to me. He didn't like it when I asked him if the only thing the State Police is good for is speed traps!

I've had 2 boats stolen. One out from under our carport while we slept. Gives a new perception of the kind of people that are walking around out there.
