Just wanted to give a shout out to Steve, got my 3500 last evening, and one of the draw close pockets wasn't working right (clip came off on the inside of the seam) and with an hour of talking to him today he has a replacement headed my way :)

Great customer service!

I'll be posting up my thought on the bag once I have had a little more time to test it, but initial impressions are:

Wow - Super comfy - Like the Lumbar pad a lot more than I anticipated.

Wow - Bigger then I thought - No worries getting 4-5 days of gear (plus a kifaru roll top POD works great on the bottom of the bag if you want to put a sleeping bag inside so 7-10 days should be fine)

Wow - Gets SUPER compact... I mean really really flat. Didn't expect it to get that compact:)

Will post more later :)

How is the waist fitting? What size did you order and what size pants do you wear?

Belt is fitting great... Have room for layers and max out with a couple of inches left to tighten. Very happy with belt fit.
I wear 30-31" jeans usually and ordered a small belt size.

Steve did you decide not to do a smaller bag?

We really wanted to get this done and ready by August but we aren't sure if that is going to happen now. Pack orders for the 3500 and 5500 are keeping us plenty busy between producing and shipping them that we just haven't had the time yet to finalize the design of it.

I'll definitely post up pics and status updates on it as we know more.

Thanks,
Steve

Hooo snap. Put in a pre-order a good month ago and finally got around to checking the site to figure out what accessories.... adding those puts the 3500 at $620+

Shocked me a bit. So those of you who have one.... its worth it? I was heading towards an EXO beecause its a start up company (like to support them) but also for a more affordable option than a Kifaru setup... yet its coming pretty dang close to the Kifaru realm.

I don't have kifaru pack (have other pieces of their gear) so idk if I am the best to reply, but there are plenty of threads where someone has both and prefers the exo or has both and prefers the kifaru... I haven't seen any of those for Eberlestock, badlands etc. (not nocking them - I actually like them just not same league)... which to me speaks that they are similar league with features and preference points one way or the other - yet still come out a little cheaper - tho not by as much, but if you stick with brown or foliage it is a little better.

As to accessories, I have two hip pouches, the meat shelf, pocket, and load panel (on backorder).

Really like the hip pockets, and for 20 bucks I say they are worth it. Haven't used the meat shelf for meat, but works good for concrete and sand :) in that case... I figured for 20 bucks why not, but I could take or leave it. Velcro pockets... eh one is nice but no need for any more and could do without even one. Load panel I see as being well work 40 bucks...

So comparing to kifaru accessories they are similar in price - grab it, beaver tail etc.

I guess at some level to play with the big boys, cost must reflect it.

Also has lifetime warranty.

For me it came down to features I wanted - mostly the load shelf. So that was Stone Glacier and Exo - then the full length side pockets and color sent me to exo:)

I don't regret my purchase.

yeah. you just got me back on track. I tend to start obsessing over details when getting close to purchase time ;) I'll just go with my gut and stick with the Exo.

Reference to one of the above posts, any high end pack will run you 550-700 bucks. There are some high end mountaineering packs that run upwards of 1 thousand bucks.

I look at it as buying a pack that will last me a great long time before any real maintenance will be required and also get me excellent customer service in the long run. Also being american made by hard working americans is worth paying a little more to me.

Jarrod, you won't regret your decision, the Exo is one heck of a pack, absolutely awesome with 20# or 120# - Best pack we've used!

Just wondering if anybody here has seen the 2015 pack next to the 2014 model? I own the 5500 from last year and I'm curious if the changes made to the pack are improvements that I should be concerned about..?

Steve, unless I missed it, has the "how to" adjustment video been posted yet?
