Anybody else notice this thread hit 600 posts? Is that some sort of a record? Shows the hype/support for this pack. Congrats to exo on the success.

Well, here is post #603.
I picked up my and my brothers pack as I was driving through Boise last Friday morning. I met with Steve and the shop and as has been discussed, customer service is excellent. I'll give it a shakedown cruise this weekend going after "pigasauerus" and am looking forward to getting it on my back.

Thanks Steve.

Post 600 went to Steve S and S Archery. Very nice and top shelf pack. Glad I went with the 5500. Was having second thoughts thinking it was going to be too big but not the case.

Thanks Steve and Lenny!

For some reason I can't get the load panel to come up on the site. Anyone else having trouble?

So the other day I said I would try the Kuiu rain cover out for fit on this pack , so lets stuff it up and see.
First some gear

Not real organized in packing here , nothing in the back pocket or lower side pockets , the full length side pockets are used , the pocket in the lid is used , main bag is used , I could probably get quite a bit more in if I took my time .

Fits pretty good , wraps right around to shoulder straps no problem , I think it will work good , weighs 4 oz I believe and packs down to a very small footprint , for those interested its a Kuiu large rain cover

Overall impression of the EXO 3500 , I only had maybe 25 lbs altogether in it but man is it ever comfortable , I was worried about the large waist belt as some have said they ran about out of adjustment , I guess I am about 37" around the middle now , this fit pretty good , I had about
3" -4 " of strap on each side when cinched up , once cinched up it felt good , comfortable . The lumbar pad is thick , for the time I wore this today , maybe 1/2 hr it was not an issue , I may take one of the pads out , we'll see , shoulder straps were comfy , come the weekend I'll give it a better workout . So far I like it a lot , glad I made the purchase.

They definitely need to redo the webbing length on the large belts. I was one of the first and thought it was a one time mistake. Obviously they are not making them long enough for us big guys.

I could use a serious diet??? But in the mean time I would go for a bigger belt.

Just got home from a quick 5.5 mile walk with the dog and my 3500. Total weight including pack was 56lbs. Absolute total comfort the whole way.

Speaking of rain covers, in a pinch the Eberlestock large 'featherweight pack rain cover' (J1RC) will work as well, only 4 oz. It's what I'm using on my exo 3500 (until exo comes out with one), fits my fully loaded pack with room to spare.
