This is gonna sound pretty silly but Is there anyone on this thread that would trade a coyote brown 5000 set up for the same in ranger green? 3 hipbelt Accessories included. Medium belt. 25” frame.
I’m Still open to trade for a ranger green set up lol

I just wanted to drop a comment in on lumbar pad - certainly concur there's a real difference after some break in. This k4 system really seems like it molds to your body the more you use it under weight. I think the "too much" lumbar pressure thing does kind of relieve itself after a decent bit of time.

For some reason I can’t find it and thought I saw it on this thread, but didn’t somebody put a fusion bag on a Ranger green frame? If so, can somebody repost the picture???

I haven't posted a photo but I do have that combo. If I remember I'll post one tonight when I get home.

Just did a mountain goat hunt in SEAK with the K4 7200. We had a 5 hour pack out, and I had half the goat meat in the load shelf and full camp in the main bag. My hunting partner (that got the goat) snapped a photo of us during a particularly fun period, which is cropped to show the pack, forgot to get a photo on the ground.

It was truly impressive how the suspension handled, and how that lumbar pad/belt stays parked. Setting up the load was super easy, and having the extra compression straps on the frame really helped control the meat height within my load cell bag (ie would not let it slip to the bottom).

Another standout, since it rained every single day measured in “inches” (new concept for me) was the dry bag liner. That worked very, very well in practice. Having the extra side pockets, back sleeve and stretch pocket really came in handy.

After some heavier field use, ALL about this pack.

My mods to pack….
Love my K4 and the way it carries weight. But as for bags, I’m not a fan of lids, especially on my “day pack”. But I like that bag, just needed the 2200 to be just a bit bigger. As there are times it’s just a little tight. With a spotter, tripod, puffy, rain gear. You get the picture. So I made this little mod.

Added 2 clip on lid buckles from SG and an access bag. Gives me quite bit of room for my lightweight stuff that was taking up space. Pretty easy add on. And the Ranger greens are pretty close. If I’m not needing the extra space, just unclip it and leave it in the truck. Adds just a few ounces but about 500in3 more, and now the size is just right for Goldilocks.

I’m also a fan of a scabbard, particularly for the way that I hunt. When I ride my bike I want my weight centered the best I can. I also do a lot of my hiking in the dark, with trekking poles, where I don’t need off centered weight. So I took an add on eberlestock gun scabbard and put it between the bag and the frame. Tucked the muzzle part between the bottom straps, used the two straps on the frame and sandwiched it in between. I also added two gatekeepers from seek outside that I had laying around to really secure the bag to the frame. And again the Ranger green close enough to still look nice. If I am ever able to kill something I still think I can sandwich the meat between the scabbard and the bag and get the first load out. Then pull off the scabbard and put on the meat shelf.

I know this won’t work for some people and others may think I’m crazy. But for the way I hunt, these additions have been awesome and I just wanted to share them with anybody that it could be useful.
