Exo Mountain K4?

Anyone have any tips on how to get the shoulder straps unhooked to move them to the next slot? Not sure if I don’t have the the required finesse or I’m being too delicate (pack wasn’t cheap) any tricks/advice is appreciated.

Thanks
Dave

It takes some force and you won’t damage it. Get the tab through and then pull the slider through while angling it.

You’re being too delicate.
Pull the “buckle” away from the frame, rotate it, pull it through to the other side.

Thanks for the help guys. Had a bad month for breaking things. Guess I just got paranoid.

I finally got my 2200 out for a quick trial. 50# and it was comfortable. I could tell there needed to be a bit break in on the hip belt but no complaints. I think I need to raise the frame a bit to really dial in the comfort. Overall, very impressed and I may have to give up my beloved K2 2000.

It's July now... hopefully the rifle carrier accessory drops soon. Chomping at the bit.
A folder chasis carry system would be sweet also since they are gaining traction rapidly

Anyone experience their Ivory Holster slightly pressing against themselves with the flex clips? Looks like I just need some type of spacer but wondered what everyone else was using or doing.

Haven't hiked a ton with mine yet, but it has been ok walking around the house... I can see where my upper ribs might get pressed into - is that what you are referring to?

Have the clips ride the holster as low as you can.

Also, edit to add, might be able to trim the full length body shield - I've done that on other holsters. Part of it for me is that it's not the optimal location... Ide prefer 2-3 inches back as more of a 4 o clock position.

Yeah it just touches. I haven't stress tested it by putting a lot of miles on it yet to see if it would bother me but something tells me it will a day in. Just trying to figure out a solution before the season starts.

Snagged a K4 5000 a couple weeks ago. Just a few brush hoggin tests so far, but it seems like money well spent. We'll see how it stands up to my demanding and negligent treatment.

I did my first hike yesterday with the k4. Maybe about 4 miles. Pack was semi empty tho. I have the ivory holster on mine and I didn’t notice any rubbing.

This is how I wear mine up. I have the holster mounted down two holes on the front and down one on the back to lower the overall holster on my belt and the tilt makes it just a little easier for me to get it out quickly. It helped a lot with any body contact from the pistol grip above the belt. However, it creates more contact below the belt. I dont ever notice it while hiking but I do notice the bottom edge of the holster pushing into my upper thigh when i am doing squats or lunges during workouts. So I imagine if I am scaling a steep slope it is going to bother me. The problem for me is the holster sits a little too far forward on the belt for my liking. With the old K3 belt I was able to slide the holster along the strap to move it back a little more. With the K4 the fixed molle locations dont allow you any horizontal adjustment for locating the the holster on your waist and depending on how much the K4 belt comes around based on the size of belt and waist it doesn’t always set in the best location. Hopefully they come up with a way to add an inch to two of horizontal adjustment to the holster. I am probably going to grind off 1/4-3/8 of the material on the bottom which should help a little.
