Exo Mountain K4?

I'm so impressed with this pack that I just ordered a full K4 5000 setup to go with the packs EXO sent me to test.

Great job @ExoMtnGear
Pretty much seems like the perfect pack system. I was very excited about the pack, now that I have it Iā€™m more excited about the pack, haha.

Packs and optics are my 2 favorite hunting toys, they are both just fun to use, especially going through the whole gamut of eachā€¦ Iā€™m more excited about my new pack than I was when I got my NL puresā€¦ when you have something that you really like, and there isnā€™t much room for improvement, but then you get something that proves you wrongā€¦ itā€™s a cool thing.

My wife is the only one of us with a bear tag, and Iā€™m going to be likeā€¦ we shouldnā€™t shoot that Bear because itā€™s only going to be like 80# quartered, and I really want to put more weight in this packā€¦ if you really want to shoot it, it wonā€™t make a good rug, but Iā€™ll pack the cape out too, but ideally you should wait for one thatā€™s about 120# quartered and Iā€™ll take the cape on the second load šŸ˜‚

Received my 5000 today. Pics with 32# of early season gear (no food) which includes a liter of water in the Nalgene. Still tons of room in this thing. For kicks and grins I put 80# on it and walked a few laps around the neighborhood. Yep, Iā€™m that guy. šŸ˜‚

Debating on buying a gun bearer or waiting for the rifle carrier that exo apparently has in the works.šŸ¤”

Just picked up a 7200 for late season Alberta hunts! Excited for this pack to show up, Exo has done a great job building the suspense on this one. Didn't need a new pack till 2 weeks ago when I noticed this thread picking up some serious steam and then realized I didn't want to miss this train...
It's a lot of CAD$ but it looks like this system is made to last!

I am highly interested to see what they come out with as far as a smaller pack like the 1800, and the K4 Crib Hauler design. The larger packs look great. Iā€™ll probably pick up a 3600 eventually.

Same here. I just bought the frame and I'm waiting to see what they come up with for a daypack.

@Mark at EXO

Does the 3600 have any noticeably better rain defense than the 5000 due to the horse shoe zipper on the larger bag?
Interesting question for sure. In theory, I'd say there is a benefit to the 3600s water-resistance, due to there being less zipper ā€” and more importantly, less sewn seams. The vertical placement of the zippers/seams on the 3600/7200 should have some benefit as well, compared to the 5000 where water could sit/soak along the more horizontal seam and zipper at the top of the horseshoe.

However, I don't think the practical, real world difference would be "noticeably better" in most circumstances.

Are there any lucky winners of the K4 pack giveaway today?
I was lucky enough to win one at the Alaska Wild Sheep Banquet by guessing the weight of a display pack. Thought I was set on my previous pack I had but my new K4 7200 arrived yesterday and I think it just may be the next best thing I didn't know I needed, I believe I would have had to purchase one regardless. Just ordered a handful of the accessories to go along with it and am really looking forward to the rifle carrier with how they have the hip belt set up.

Ordered a RG 5000 yesterday shortly after the link opened. Stoked to try it out and really appreciate all the engagement from Mark and Steve before the launch here on Rokslide!

I will say, I donā€™t think Iā€™ve ever received such an in depth Thanks for your purchase email from any company, ever. Not sure Iā€™ve ever had the warm and fuzzies, and I KNOW Iā€™ve never said it, but it was something I noticed. Iā€™ve always had a great experience with S&S, so I shouldnā€™t be suprised.

Got my pre-order in today. Planning to take it out around the block with 80lbs here in a bit, but below are some pics of my 7200 with the coyote/ranger combo (requested by a few members). I know some others ordered theirs like this. This is a small belt, 26.5ā€ frame. Head clearance on the 26.5ā€ is similar to my old k3 tall frame In the low position due to not having the top horizontal titanium tube, as the Exo guys have mentioned previously. Just reinforcing that what they are saying is true.

First impressions are that this thing is the bees knees! Mark, Steve, Jake and the rest of the exo team, you guys are top notch, deliver great customer service and build an awesome pack! Hope I can send you some pics of it bloody this fall. Thanks!
