Well, 150 pounds is the point wear the pack becomes uncomfortable after 2 miles for me due to the lumbar pad. Still very workable, but not fun any longer.

It’s so much more lumbar pressure than my SG frames. Still breaking mine in, how much time is on yours? I had to get a much thicker pad on the SG frames to make them work well for me so it’s somewhat similar. Kurt mentioned a few times that kind of pressure really didn’t work for him when talking about the Krux design.

I've had my pack for over a year, not tried counting miles, but probably have over a hundred miles on it.

The lumbar pad is very comfortable at 100 pounds, it is comfortable at 135. At 150 it starts collapsing down and I had to tighten the belt a few times.

150 on the K4 feels better than 120 on a K3 or Seek Outside, that is based on memory, with a few years in between.

I used to double stuff my SG lumbar pads as well, when i got the K4 i felt the lumbar pad, but it didn't feel like too much pressure to me. I think it was just the feeling of the larger lumbar contact area that i had to get used to. After 5-7 good hikes i found i didn't notice it anymore.

Having used a DL, the K4 lumbar pad isn’t noticeably large to me. I find it comfortable.

However the SG with smaller lumbar pad seems to stay put better than the K4 does, on me. I thought I’d have to double stuff the SG, but haven’t found it necessary.

I know they’re different frame shapes, but out of curiosity, has anyone removed some foam from the K4 lumbar as an adjustment?

I just received my K4 3600 and 7200. I recently sold my other high end pack from another brand - this K4 feels way better to me. The pack just works better as far as fit and comfort go for me and it’s much more user friendly. The bag design is straight forward with the right amount of straps. I found my previous system with so many straps and locking buckles to be so much effort to keep in order. Really happy with my K4 purchase. The Nalgene holder is the best I’ve seen and same for the easy open and close hip belt pockets.

Yes, there will be an updated version. The plan in my head is that it will connect to the new Crib and be a little more minimalistic than the current version. Probably this summer before it would be out.

Any updates on possible k4 slurpy stalkers? I’m in the market for one and would rather support you guys if I can!

Any K4 owners found the nalgene holder to be awfully tight? Trying to re-insert a half full or less nalgene bottle has proven difficult when on the move- enough so the upper rib was sacrificed (hacked off w/ a knife) on my last scouting trip. I will order replacement if they tend to break-in or if anyone has a good hack.

Also EXO, please make a slick bugle tube holder for the belt.

My nalgene holder is a little tight but not the worst I've used. I like that it has more structure than most making it easier to use and also adding insulation. For me, the trick is to put one edge of the nalgene in first, and then work the rest of the bottom in. If I try to put it in with the sides of the bottle parallel to the sides of the holder it's more difficult. It seems like Exo did a video detailing how to use it but I didn't have time to look it up at the moment. I will say that it got easier with practice/repetition.

It gets easier with practice to do, but the problem I’ve found is that the only real good way to get it out is by the strap. I like that it’s tight so I don’t lose the bottle, but on my most recent trek the loop detached over the lid and ripped right off the cap. Thankfully Nalgene is sending me another for free but still kinda sucks.

I am currently doing 150 pound hikes with the K4 to get ready for a moose hunt and I agree with what's been said. I love the pack under 120, after that I need to hike the pack up and tighten the hip belt every now and then but I had to do the same thing with my barney pack and SG as well. I believe the SG lumbar pad sticks a lot better but I used it for 2 seasons and my back got rubbed raw every time I packed heavy with it. I've been very pleased with the K4

Yes- I have added, removed, layered and tried other lumbar pads to get it perfect.

I have the EXO Nalgene and it fits just perfect. Snug enough but slides in and out one handed with a loser pack on.

Thanks. If you don’t mind. What issues were you having/what wasn’t perfect and what ended up working best for you?

I’ll probably start to mess with mine. It’s an absolutely superb product, but I do get that slight slippage/settling at the belt and hope I can resolve it.
