Agree that not enough are involved...However, too many of those involved are too meek and timid.

This is not, and never has been, a game for the meek and timid.

Playing nice gets you a participation trophy, best case. Compromise is for losers.
What are you even talking about? I've attended multiple FWP meetings this year and everyone has been extremely vocal in their opposition to these proposals. FWP has walked back everything they've proposed. Should people be yelling screaming and rioting to get their way?

Honestly I don't even disagree with you that they are probably going to do whatever Gianforte's donors tell them to do at the end of the day (which is why the FWP director in Missoula just retired, sick of the politics inserting itself into the process) but to say that people are bowing down and being timid is not at all what I have seen this year and last year to for that matter.

That's just not my experience. The last couple years I've seen involvement go through the roof. Heard lots of ideas and seen things start to trend in a better direction.

I've also seen our governor start changing his viewpoint on some issues.

I believe we are headed in right direction. Some stuff last tear got squeaked by because we let off the throttle and other cars did not.

If compromise is for loosers, I feel bad for your wife.

My experience everything worthwhile in life has compromise atratched to it

You actually think Thompson retired? He also wasn't the Director and I've known Mike for nearly his entire career.

For someone living in Montana you sure aren't in the know about much.

Oh, the average hunter in Montana has been bowing down for decades...seen it. If not for a small handful of people, many of them friends of mine, things would be even worse.

Glad to see you've already tossed in the towel and agree that Sportsmen, hunting and wildlife in Montana are again going to take a pounding via the GG's office and the Legislature.

Make sure to bend both knees when you beg for "compromise"....

You actually believe commenting at FWP meeting really does any good?

Laffin'...

Take a guess what you have if you "compromise" 4 times?...6 1/4% of what you started with.

Like I said, compromise is for losers and why hunting in Montana is where its at.

That's unfortunate you see only negative.
Without compromise there is only angery/bitter stalemate.

If governor and rest of regime only cared about thier way, the public comment period would not have been extended.

Try all you wish to promote resentment. I'll keep pushing for involvement through communication with ideas instead of complaints.

My hope is that more folks get involved and stay involved. When things don't go their way are willing to take a breath and keep pushing forward in a civil manner.

I completely understand why you feel the way you feel. For a long time I felt disenfranchised myself. I was full of resentments. Bottom line is I was not willing to put in the effort. I was like a little kid whose parents wouldn't let him have a cookie.

Sooner or later we all have to look in the mirror. Hold ourselves responsible and go work for what we want!

Right...the Wilk's compromised when they got 8 LE bull permits, after the draw, hand delivered by the Director (alledgedly), in an area most residents will never draw, all because they compromised.

You think they compromise to get what they want?

Really?

Laffin'...again.

To my knowledge there wasn't enough opposition.
Commision was going to entertain. The idea of making private land otc tag while keeping permit on public. We voiced opposition. More importantly we voice the why and offered other options. They pulled that idea off table.

For along time situations like what you described happen, because there was no opposition. This regime us asking for other ideas and adjusting fore as needed.

So yes the communication and willingness to work with others is starting to pay off.

Well, we'll see who gets to say "I told you so" and who eats crow.

They haven't pulled anything off the table...repackaged a turd is more appropriate.

Who are your friends and what's their complaint?
I'm not about to throw other people's names out on here. They live in casper, cheyrnne, and rawlins.

A few of the issues revolve around private land. Public access, yuppy mobiles, over crowding, poaching, permits. Too name a few.

Tell them to hunt Montana for a few years, then they'll have something to complain about.
