Elk camp Bourbon

Weller or Makers.
Have some Palisade peaches steeping in Makers 101 right now for a sweeter sip this Fall, honey added to smooth it out.

16 years sober here so I don't drink, but.......

Last year, some buddies left a box with some fancy unopened bourbon in their Air BnB. I left camp and visited them to shower before they checked out. I took the bottle, which was in a nice box, back to camp. When I departed a few days later, I stacked the remainder of the firewood nicely next to the firepit...for the next group. I wrapped the box in some clear plastic and hid it 1/2 way in the stack with a Happy Hunting note. It's a pretty popular area and usually has a camp set up for the rifle seasons.

When I returned this year for a quick spring turkey trip, the firewood had been used....so I'm guessing I made some hunter's day....free wood and bourbon. Maybe the karma will pay off this year..

Bulleit 10 year Bourbon, reminds me of old western bars.
Frontier Whiskey

Basil Hayden has been my go to. If I kill early I most likely will have to make another trip to the liquor store.

Maker’s gets it done for me.

But I usually go off the sauce a few weeks before the season to round out my training and lock in for the hunt.

This year I have a couple of lushes joining so maybe I’ll make an exception… what could possibly go wrong?

I’ve reconfigured my Go Box to take along Wild Turkey Rare Breed. Regular for sipping and the Rye for Old Fashioned's.

I am going to take this opportunity to brag as I did a little hunting yesterday after work while I was out of town:

That EHT SB will definitely make it to a wall tent somewhere someday.

Bulleit is my favorite for the price. Basil Hayden is one I really, really like if I can stomach the price.

But for the hunting theme...I gotta go Wild Turkey 101 or maybe Tin Cup for the Colorado vibe.

I go through phases and like to try different bottles fairly regularly my go to right now are
Bardstown Bourbon, both white and black label
Bullet single barrel
Chicken cock single barrel

All of these are less than $50-$60 bucks and really good sippers.
