Electric Fat tire in the mountains?

Rode a Specialized Levo at a demo day, it was awesome. I don't think I would ever own one as the price is crazy and I wouldn't want a heavy bike like that. However if I had cash to burn and owned a bunch of bikes and wanted something to pull a trailer then I would consider it. Although, I would love to purchase one for my Dad so we could ride together and he could keep up.

Anyone have any experience with an electric assist fat tire mountain bike in the backcountry?

Keep in mind that (I know Colorado and I think many other states?) consider this motorized travel so you are no better of than guys with a dirtbike. You cant ride them on single track trails that are for hiking/mountain biking/equestrian use they have to be used on trails with designated motorized use.
