Eberlestock user. Is there any other brand as modular?

I have an Eberlestock F1 mainframe, 2 batwings, a mystery ranch top lid, some other EB pouch for a water bladder, and 4000ish zip on dry bag (before the vapor series)

Firstly, I’d like to say, I have tried to research this as much as any guy. I am a practical dude that loves to hunt but I have to do it on a budget most years. Meaning it’s hard to justify expensive “nicer gear”.

I absolutely love the modularity of my system. I can easily day hunt with the batwings and top lid. Or I can zip in the big dry bag for a week long hunt, ditch the big bag and seamlessly switch to the batwings to put on the stalk and when I get something, I can throw the meat on the shelf. It’s just about the perfect practical system.

I’ve packed out half an elk, blacktail deer and now half a caribou.

Like many have stated, it’s just not the most comfortable under 70-150lbs.

The new model of the Eberlestock Just One pack, may be even more practical as a day pack, week pack and meat hauler… I’ve been eyeballing it now and it’s such an affordable price.

Now, for the questions. I think I need to change it up. Is there a pack system that is as modular, decently affordable, but feels better under a load?

If not, I’ll suck it up and keep using Eberlestock gear since it just works so practically. I just don’t love the packs that are a big deep bag. I hate rifling thru a bag to find my jerky and headlamp.

Sorry this is long. Any tips would be appreciated.

Nice work with that F1 setup…it’s a proven hauler but I agree it gets rough past 70 lbs.

For better heavy-load comfort without losing modularity, look at Kifaru Duplex Lite/ARC with a Stryker bag or Stone Glacier Xcurve/Krux Evo.

Both carry 100 lbs far better and you can snag used deals on Rokslide or similar forums.
