How do they hold up compared to kuiu, Sitka?

I have all three. The guide pants are nice but for me it’s a looser fit and not near as durable. They are great pants but not an attack pant re Kuiu.

The ones I get from Costco are cheap enough I have 4-5 of them. Not quite as durable as my first lite guide pants, but I can have 7-8 pair for the same money.

The Horizon Guides are the move from EB. They don’t have that goofy kneecap pocket. Also, they make the FA Guide Pro’s in a slimmer fit now. They’re solid.

Ive hunted exclusively in them for archery the last three years. They’re great. And dirt dirt cheap on sale.

Biggest downside using these as hunting pants are they're way louder than say a Sitka Apex pant which is my favorite early season pant

Love my EB guide pro for early season. Buy a few on sale. Wear em until it’s cold enough to transition to heavier attack pant or timberline.

Surprised to hear the Sitka is quieter than the EB Guides. I have no experience with the Sitka but find the EB Whitetail quiet. The only downside is they get pulls easily walking through the briars that are common in good whitetail cover.

Since reading about the EB pants here two years ago researching my first elk hunt I have become a convert and now own about 7 pairs. I find them to be very quiet while hunting and look good enough for the office. My only complaint is the stretching out of the waistband where over the course of the day it can bunch up and fall below the belt buckle towards the end of the day but nothing to warrant not buying these super comfortable pants. On top of that if you watch out for sales and coupons you can buy them regularly at about $40 nd have gotten them as low as $25. For that price I can but 6 or more pairs for the price of a single pair of Sitka or Kuiu.

When you see them on sale for 40-50% off, they are great pants. At full price of $80, they aren't worth that. Stitching, zipper, buttons not as high quality as you find on Sitka and Kuiu. EB Guides are my Sept and Oct hunting pants and have a few for around town wear. I've never heard them make any noise.

If anything my, Sitka Ascent and Mountain pants pill and string out a little more than the Eddie Bauer guides both from Costco and retail. They are just as comfortable. However they are not as quiet and don’t have as many zipper / closed pockets for gear. At $20 from Costco and basically lifetime warranty from Costco, they are the best outdoor hunting pant value on the market.

EB's are the only pants ive worn for about 7 years now. On a sheep hunt my friends kuiu attacks got shredded and mine didnt have a tear. I was really surprised.

All my work pants and most of my hiking/early season hunting pants are now EB. I wear the insulated guide pants for stand hunting whitetails down to 40 degrees before I throw my bibs on.

No pulls on my EB FA's but the stitching does tend to come loose at the ends more than i'd like. Will have to see how that progresses.
My son said he prefers his EBs to his Kuiu Attacks, though that was just a preliminary report after one trip with each.

If you take it back to the store, I bet the replace it. They probably won’t warranty it if you tear on a thorn bush, but if stitching comes out, they have a reputation of standing behind products.

I wore EB Guide Pro pants for the last 2 season's and summer hiking. Still on the same pair without any issues. I hike a lot of waist high oak brush too. My shins are scratched up, the pants are fine.

That’s the one knock I have on EB guide pants. They don’t protect well from brush...neither do P’rana Zions either. I have found that 5.11 has been best to ward off thorns.

Being a tall guy I've always bought EB products and bought a pair of these on sale a year ago. I really like them as an active, affordable pant.

My question kind of mirrors the OP, I'm going to Colorado this fall for first season rifle. We are hunting near Durango at I believe about 9000 feet. Its private land and we are supported by quads, side by sides and pickups so not a horseback hunt or wilderness hunt. Will these pants be enough with a base layer or would I be better off buying either the FL Corrugate or the similar Kuiu pant? This is the only western/mountain hunt I have in mind for the foreseeable future.

I don't see much difference in my EB and the first lite corrugate, in terms of temps I would wear them in. I think it's going to be hard to know what you will need for clothes that time of year tho.

Check out EB lined pants, $50 on sale. For me the regular ones would be too cold for what you’re describing.
