Hey guys, I’ve been a gun nut for quite awhile. Not a stranger to handguns at all, but thought I’d see what the consensus is here. I’ll soon be in the market for a new EDC. I’ve narrowed it down to three options. A Glock 43X, a standard Sig 365 with XL grip module, or a Smith Shield Plus. I had one of the first gen Shields several years ago and really liked it. I’ve had a 365XL, and really liked that as well. I’m very familiar with Glock. All of these are solid platforms. The XL grip module would obviously give a capacity advantage, but anything with 10 rounds should be more than enough, or else I’m in serious trouble.

I was set on a 365xl, walked into the gun store and happened to handle a S&W and that did it. So much more ergonomic and comfortable. All good options, though.

I have had a 43x and 43. Not an sig fan. And currently carry a few s&w (shield plus or bodyguard 2.0).

The 43x was too big for me. Grip was longer than I like. Too hard to conceal. I’m a smaller guy though. A 43 with mag guts gave me 8+1 and I do enjoy that gun but you need mag kits, sites to make it what the others come from the factory as.

Iv been happy with the shield plus. I like the option of a thumb safety for a cc gun. I have one with a dot on it (you will need to get the OR model cut even though you shouldn’t) and one without. Comes with night sites(OR models). 10,12 and 15 round factory mag options, that all work well. Aggressive texture on the grip. It’s a nice little gun. Even better with an eps carry on it. I carry a bodyguard 2.0 as a smaller yet gun and I do like that both operate, feel and shoot very similar. Plenty of holster options for the shield plus as well. Zero reliability issues with the two I own.

Of those, S&W easy.
Glocks ergos suck compared to the Smith and the Shield shoots much flatter, much like a larger pistol.

The Sig does have a little bit a of question mark to my as to reliability. I like the grip length of the 43X in my hand. I don’t want a grip shorter than the 365XL. I’d consider the Glock and Smith to be on the same reliability plane. Very likely whatever it is will get an EPS Carry on top. Currently have one and love it

I go back and forth between G43 and G43x.

The 43 is nice for OWB under an untucked summer shirt.

I roll with the 43x in my chest harness with hard cast bullets when hunting too so it will serve double duty for you if needed.

I have a milled slide with an RMRcc too. It's interchangeable but I prefer irons.
