Easton HIIT epoxy issues

It sounds like your issue is a prep issue. Make sure clean the end out with acetone (after cutting the arrow), same with insert. Then coat, twist on the way in and done. I've done 10's of dozens this way and never had an insert pull out.

If you want to use a different 2-part epoxy, use this. If it can keep my driver head on at speeds ~120 mph your inserts will be fine...

The more forums i get into and the more i think about it.. I think your right. I think i need to do a better job with my prep (maybe on this last dozen i just forgot to prep at all). Thanks for the help man !

I’ve used the Easton epoxy on FMJ and Axis never had an issue. You might have gotten a bad batch of epoxy.

I have been using kimsha hotmelt for 3-4 years and I don’t think I have had one come loose yet. I do a little extra prep on them but it’s been working great.
That is where I’ve landed currently, and really like it so far.

I will add, I have used Easton epoxy on several dozen arrows and it has been solid, don’t recall losing any inserts with it over the span of several years

I truly despise losing inserts in targets, if you don’t get it out of the target, they will cost you more arrows

I had several issues with hits when I bought my new bow. I think it may have been an epoxy issue and not the shafts. I just switched arrows because I was trying to figure out what I wanted to use. My friends that shoot axis arrows never have an issue and I broke or damaged several pretty quickly just in targets.

I have never had issues with Easton epoxy but, I only used it for about 1-year and switched to hot melt (Kimsha). (I can change out with hot melt and there is a 'give' to it.) If you want to stick with non-hot melt glues, I would steer toward a shock absorbing glue such as Pine Ridge Insert Glue (black). That being said, I think the number one thing in gluing inserts (regular or HIT inserts) is bore prep. Swab out the bore (dry and with acetone) and scrub the bore out with a wire brush followed by a swab (pick up an any gun or archery shop). DON'T SKIP SCRUBBING THE BORE. And glue away. I got my scrubbing kit from Last Change Archery but there are a bunch of them out there. Good luck! I'm sure you'll get it!
