I got some half outs for .165 shafts that I was playing around with, they are super solid but with hard impacts they mushroom the end of the arrow79FB7553-AD41-417F-BC0F-37A10B7B6BCA.jpeg
I got a dozen vaps I wanted to try with the half outs and footers, the Easton platinum plus 1713 shaft is perfect for the 300 VAP it’s .001 larger. I cut the aluminum shaft at 1.5 inches and all are .2 of each other, they weight 11.1-11.3 grains. I used a deburring tool to round the edges, between the footer and the insert it’s 66 grains up front. Total weight is 472 with a wrap 4 fletch and 125 head.755FBA70-8180-4360-B687-DB1540BAFC3F.jpegCF44C0F7-C4A4-4001-A09A-8B77922BFD84.jpeg
I’m going to build another dozen with the standard deep six insert with a footer, and have found that 8/32nd set screw are .164 and can be glued behind the deep six inserts for added weight I have six packs of 24 in various lengths on the way, each pack was 1.50$ and from 1/8 to 1/2 inch. I found them on albanycountyfasteners.com I hope to get both builds within a couple grains of each other9A2839EF-82A1-4B16-8EB6-84CD7AA3EC7B.jpeg

Have you had any issues with those sleeves pulling the arrow off the string?

Might be a good idea to chuck those in a drill and bevel the back edges.

That picture was just when I was dry fitting them together, I did just that and chucked them into a drill and hit with the deburring tool last night and glued everything together shot a handful of times into the SpyderWeb today and had no issues at all
