Does anyone have a recommendation for a good E-bike, mainly for fitness but would like something to hunt from as well.

I got the quietkat at a great price when they had a big sale. Even with the price I got I wish I would have gone with more of a bike store brand now that I know how much I use it for stuff other than hunting. Bike store brands peddle assist and bike weights are a lot more like riding a actual bike where mines like a tank. I actually stripped out my rear hub a couple weeks ago and bought a new wheelset from https://www.bikesdirect.com/products/ebikes-electric-bikes-at-near-wholesale.html they had some great prices on ebikes if you can do your own repairs. Otherwise bike shop for a specialized, trek, giant etc

I have a Yamaha. It’s sweet. I don’t have a lot to compare it to, but it’s a full suspension bike that rides great with27.5 3+ inch tires. Riding it with a backpack and rifle works fine, but it doesn’t have racks for extra gear or anything

I added a Bafang motor to a specialized fatboy. It is sweet for what it is. I also bought a crf 250f. This last weekend my son rode the ebike and I putted along behind him on the motorcycle. It worked out pretty well, but the ebike battery was shot on the second day. I like the ebike, but love the motorcycle. You can’t beat the range and speed it can get you places.
If it were me, I would consider getting a dirt bike and use and regular bike to help get in shape.

That's awesome, I didn't know it was an option. I race a YZ250F and the bike is to help keep the HR in zone 3 training for a 2 hours races. Have fun on the CR!

Former bike shop employee here. I’d echo what rclouse said with running a dirtbike for hunting and an ebike for training.

Our shop sold the quietkats for a while and a majority of people who bought them seemed to have buyers remorse. The main reasons were that when doing recreational riding, it didn’t feel like a bike but rather a tank. And for those that used them for hunting purposes complained that the battery drained very quickly when the temps got down close to the 30s at night and that they were underpowered and were more of a headache than it was worth when riding them on anything other than a well maintained trail while packing out an animal. Maybe all those guys were expecting it to be more comparable to a dirtbike and were underwhelmed. I’m not sure. I never had the opportunity to use one hunting.

The typical trek, specialized, giant type ebikes are a blast to ride and are great for training and recreational use. I’m sure it would be fine to use on a hunt but don’t expect it to be an alternative to a legit dirtbike or anything like that
