This. Too many variables to say unless you narrow it down. Is it a FS road? If so, that ranger district will publish a map that shows if you can camp on the road, and how far off the road it’s legal to park. Then you need to determine if landscape allows you to get off the road surface. If it’s not FS and is a county or state road, I’d say in general, no it’s not ok.Depends on where your going, type of road and a bunch of other stuff pertaining to local regulations.
Agree, legalities aside, I'd be more concerned about my truck still being there.Man, this day and age there’s a good chance your vehicle will be missing parts when you return after that long.
I’d try a different approach
OK so if I find a trail head with parking that would be safer you guys think? As an out of state hunter I'm going to pack in for a hunt for 8 days but where I'm parking might be on the side of a road is there do's and donts or is that frowned upon or legal?
IdahoI'll answer your dumb question with a dumb question of my own: What state are you planning to travel to?
