Finally got a break from work and decided to spend some time chasing birds. I killed one earlier in the season but haven’t had much time with a new position at work. Lucked into a group of birds about an hr after getting through the gate and the lead tom put on a show. He took some TSS to the noggin and did the happy dance.

The next bird was sounding off regularly and I made a crawl to a fenceline and put out a laying hen and a feeding hen decoy. A few soft yelps and two jakes showed up. They wandered off after jacking with my setup for a few minutes and the Tom was getting closer. He popped out of the brush and hung up for 2 or 3 min. Once he broke and headed my way he was on a bee line. I shot him at 11 yards and he’s a dandy
