I do too, but Lapua 22-250 brass isn’t made currently and nobody seems real eager to part with it.Might give Hornady a call on that. I've nearly relegated any new firearm purchase to a cartridge that Lapua makes brass for.
Brand new brass with split necks is probably worth informing folks about, especially a site full of fast twist 22 cal shooters.Hornady brass has always been garbage, this isn't front page news.
Everyone already knows. Hornady brass is all junk not just the 22-250.Brand new brass with split necks is probably worth informing folks about, especially a site full of fast twist 22 cal shooters.
Consider me outta’ the loop.Everyone already knows. Hornady brass is all junk not just the 22-250.
I know it’s not top notch, but I use Hornady for my 6.5 and am on 6-7 loads with some of the cases and very few issues.Everyone already knows. Hornady brass is all junk not just the 22-250.
Brand new brass. Brand new rifle too. Tikka 1-8 22-250. Brand new brass chambered slightly hard so I bumped the shoulders just enough for a smooth bolt closure. I’d say about 1/8 of a turn of the die of “cam over”, probably a .002 bump. That middle one looks like something is wrong beyond the brass. Is this a new rifle/caliber for you? How old is the brass and did it split after firing or after sizing. Were they once fired by your gun, or you got them as once fired?
How much quicker would you expect them to leave the chat? 8 firings versus 10+ like Lapua/Alpha or worse than that?Norma is great quality and consistent but it's soft and primer pockets give up a little early. Definitely a big step up from Hornady though.
Just throw it in the trash before someone else ends up with it.I found a couple boxes of Lapua… now to see if Hornady will take this bag of shit back…
I wouldn’t sell it to a liberal… I’ll be hoping for a refund or call it a lesson learned.Just throw it in the trash before someone else ends up with it.
If it makes you feel better not all Hornady is junk. I’ve been loading it for 10 years in 6 creedmoor with no problems at all. I ordered a bunch when GAP rebarreled my rifle because they were the only ones who had it at time. I could have necked 6.5 down but at that time Pat and Cinch was using the Hornday brass so I figured if it was good enough for them it was good enough for me. I also stocked up on alpha brass but the Hornady has been fine. I also have starline that I’ve used in a different rifle and it’s been good too. Turned out 3 rifles shoot the same load so I’ve stayed with the crappy hornady. I’ll use the other brass for 22 creedmoor when my 22-250AI finally dies. It doesn’t know it should have died over a few thousand rounds ago….grin.Consider me outta’ the loop.
Looks like a guy can get some Norma. Maybe that’ll be better.
