Coffee!

I have considered the snozzle bag shower attachment but my hunting partner and I decided it was the GIF after me again cause it probably won't get used.

my guilty pleasures are PB/honey/bacon sandwiches. One per day.

These are a necessity as they're one of the few things I can make myself eat at altitude.

The Via's are great, especially the Italian Roast.........but not a fan of the French Roast flavor. They're quick and easy and no mess. Would be better with some 1/2 and 1/2, but I'm not hauling that in.

I can't think of anything I take that's a luxury item, except maybe a sleeping pad. But many would agree that a pad is a requirement, and it is if you want a decent night's sleep.

At base camp I always have ice cold A&W. That's my luxury item after spending a few nights roughing it.

+1 on the Starbucks via's. I Bring a couple of the mocha flavored ones to Change it up along with the Italian roast.

I wouldn't backpack it longs distances....

When I get dropped into the backcountry of Alaska (Super Cub) my gear will often hold a bottle of good cabernet sauvignon and a take-down wine glass.

After reading this thread I realize that my gear is mostly comprised of luxuries!

The closest thing I have to luxury is likely my phone. It is primarily for music at night, but it is also functional for comms and a backup light.

I have a broken neck, so neck support while sleeping is a necessity. I have an inflatable pillow that i like. I have also been working to dual purpose other gear do avoid bringing a dedicated pillow.

My luxury item is a medium sized cotton towel, like the ones we used to get in the Army. The feel of drying off after cleaning up with a terry cloth towel is my little bit of luxury. I have also been known to pack in a few slices of pizza and a Coke for the first night of a camping/hunting trip.

Trader Joes has an instant coffee with half and half and sugar, supposedly pretty good, I just need to remember and stop by and pick a few up to try. Would be nice to not have to support Starbucks.

What kind of container does that come in, and how much do they weigh? I only use that cancer causing sweetener.......Sweet-n-Low.

I bring a small backpacking towel and if I know I will access to plenty of water I will bring some camp soap. Like a lot have already posted I like to freshen up before hitting the sack. One thing I found works real well is to heat some water up on my stove and then pour it onto a towel so that when I clean up the towel is not freezing cold.

Other then that I also bring a small paperback book to unwind for a few minutes at night especially if I am solo.

Anyone bring anything to give their water a little flavor? Mio, dasani drops, crystal light, etc.? Might be nice to change it up a bit.

Sleep system in general is all luxury - I sleep poorly in my own bed. Unless I have some comfort in the woods I'm sunk. Use an exped synmat7, a very comfortable but relatively heavy pillow. Absolutely worth the weight penalty for me.

I bring powdered Gatorade packets. They are a little heavy, so I take one for each day. It's a real nice change to all the water I drink on a backpacking trip.

I have a coffee press for my jetboil and it worked great in the mountains, but I consider coffee a must have. The one thing that I will take next time is a bottle of whisky and maybe a pair of camp shoes.

I take an iPad Air. Might sound a little extreme but I love having it. In airplane mode the battery life is great. I have maps and satellite images of my area down loaded, many magazines and a couple of books down loaded for evenings and fogged in days above tree line and hundreds of photos to thumb through on the odd evening that sleep doesn't come easily. Oh and a couple seasons of South Park ( my favorite Colorado town) on there as well. Since I quit carrying a mickey of rum the weight gain is zero.😎
