So they did and now you are trying to down play it. Why?

there was a National campaign for anti’s to try to draw WY grizzly tags(even though it was a quota system and would keep issuing tags until quota was filled) Are you going to down play that also?
Probably because the owner of Patagonia is a huge supporter of BHA which Buzz is on the WY committee, he probably fishes with him and Land once a year 🤣 You know this comment is coming Buzz 😂

Pesonally I could careless if they get tags, it’ll never be material overall and they do have a right to apply and pay for tags same as everyone else.

I've heard of a couple people going for the grizzly tags but it would be a waste of time and money for them to go for anything else.

I could care less who draws what tags. They have as much privilege to draw these tags as I do as long as they have the points to do so, and in CO they have to have a valid hunter's safety card to apply, and buy a qualifying license first as well. Whether they hunt or not isn't even a concern of mine. In fact, when I draw tags......I'm always hoping that no one else with a tag shows up, then I have the unit to myself. (y) In 2013 when we had all that rain, for two weeks I literally saw only one other bow hunter out there......and that was truck camping covering and hunting a very wide swath of that unit. It was awesome.

When you buy a tag in Colorado where does it ever require you to verify or show that you have a hunter safety card? You need one by law but nowhere in the application and purchase process does it require you to download or show a copy of one.

Not trying to start a pissing match, but do you have anything to back that up?

If true, I’d love to read about it and share it with some friends.
While not what you asked it’s pretty easy to see their view as a company on it since it’s on their website.

Wildlife belongs to all citizens, not just those that hunt.

Its not different than someone drawing a tag, getting a new job, moving, having a family emergency, etc. and not hunting it.

Hunters need to get out of the mindset that every tag they draw needs to attached to a dead animal...and also how to mind their own business.

Yes, wildlife belongs to everyone. It depends on what utility you get from it. Some like to watch it, some like to eat it. Some like to do both.

Except the guy getting a new job and moving had the intent on hunting, some things we cannot control, regardless of what other forum hero's think (not you).

Non-hunters need to take your advice as well and learn how to mind their own business. The intent of hunting is a management tool so the wildlife watchers can continue to do so. Somebody putting in for a tag with the intent of purposefully not using it because they disagree with the practice is no different than theft of a good...

You have to enter your number and state but I bet you could put anything in and the system would take it, it only matters if your checked while hunting.

I wouldn’t say it’s theft of a good, I’d compare it more to buying a new truck today when they are scare and putting it in your garage to never drive. You know similar to collecting cars.

It really is only a short term solution for the antis. If the game agency is not meeting harvest quotas, they will increase the number of tags in the future. It might be the only time they have ever actually invested in the wildlife they say they care about so much. Instead of worrying about 1 animal, they are funding the species.

It was used as part of the justification as to why Idaho makes you buy elk, deer or pronghorn controlled tags instead of the department just mailing them. To my knowledge there is/was no proof of it actually happening

I'm aware, appreciate the link though, not a surprise to anyone they are anti Grizz hunting.

What I'd really like to see is something where they offered Reimbursement as was stated in the first post I quoted.

Oklahoma, along with several other states, instituted a hunting license requirement when applying for draw hunts. While everyone is afforded the opportunity to apply, those with the intent to prevent others from actually hunting by drawing tags now have to support wildlife and wildlife agencies monetarily. This rule change makes herd management more stable and accurate.

I have it listed in my account, my daughters have theirs listed in their account and we're all "verified" in the system. The card number is even printed on all our tags. If you buy a tag at a retailer here you have to show your hunter safety card to even purchase a tag if you haven't been verified in their system.

I've been wrong before post up your proof of the antis drawing more than one grizzly tag. As it turned out made no difference.
Yes, only one anti hunting famous photographer would have been awarded a tag, but I am not going to link the numerous google searches that show the campaign they had that encouraged and led to a bunch of them throwing their name in the hat.

It almost feels like it was an internet rumor with no facts from what I remember, it also might of been the owner not the company but I do t remember all the internet chat from then.

Wish I could find that campaign.

Here is a quote from their buffalo field campaign manager when the hunt had them riled up:

"We also have some great news: Patagonia has agreed to pay the $75 fee for every buffalo kill permit secured by a BFC supporter that isn't used. THANK YOU PATAGONIA for always coming through for the buffalo! Applications must be turned in to Fish, Widllife and Parks no later than 5:00 pm MST on January 3, 2005. The drawing takes place on January 7, 2005, and if your name is drawn, you will receive a phone call from FWP. Stay in touch with us! For FWP's information on the canned hunt visit "

I would. The intent for that good, or resource, is to be consumed, not stored. Whether or not someone can render it to a consumable format depends on how flat-brim they are by not finding something big enough...

I've bought all of my tags online, I've never had to enter any hunters safety info. Going down to the office to have your hunter safety attached to your license info is so that you don't have to carry your card around with you in the woods.
