I've used a stall mat for a backstop and it's probably the safest option.
I realize this is the traditional archery section but be warned that a stray compound arrow (not that anyone misses with a compound) might require a winch or a come-along to pull out of the mat.

Not disagreeing that it will go through, but I doubt it has much umph after going through. I can only recall sending field points through and never having one pass all the way through with 75lb. bow and 460grn arrow. If it does make it to your fletchings, your fletchings are f'd.I can attest to this! Also beware that a fixed blade single bevel from a 70lb compound at 20 yards will go clean through the mat. Or, so a friend told me
