Old school here, Whirlpool. We have had three in 44 years, and replaced one of them because my wife changed kitchen color scheme, which I don't understand.

Not a lot of difference between 100 series and upper models except more control options. 100 series has plastic tub vs upper models have SS. If you are going to stay in your home 8 years you may like the SS but if you just want functions 100 series with 3 racks and top controls is what we put in our luxury home rentals .

Just replaced mine. We looked at a lot of them. I wasn’t impressed with Bosch and a lot of the reviews on the new machines weren’t great and said customer service sucked when issues arose. Ended up with the higher end kitchen aid. You get what you pay for. Solid unit, quiet, cleans dishes well. It replaced whirlpool that was only 5 years old.

Actually your Kitchenaid is made by whirlpool and uses many of the same parts. Didn’t use to be that way when kitchenaid was the best you could buy.

I looked and looked a couple years ago and ended up ordering and waiting on a Bosch (took a few months cause the world was stupid at that time) and hands down it's the best dishwasher I've ever owned

We saved about 40% by buying a floor display Bosch from our local Best Buy instead of ordering a new one. We love how quiet it is compared to the Frigidaire we were running.

Don't get one from California.

Both my x-wife and the current model are from California.

They don't wash dishes, cook, or clean worth a damn.

Sandwich quality is questionable at best.

If you do this yourself, and you are connecting it to a dishwasher unit, make sure to remove the plastic plug on the side of the garbage disposal before connecting the hose to the dishwasher drain. Ask me how I learned this .

Fisher and Paykel, split draws are fantastic!
This. Took a bit to figure out loading as it is different that the typical rack style. Also have to run the longest cycle to get the dishes dry. No heated dry. Quiet and works well. Would buy another.

Here are the top models recommended by Consumer Reports. Bosch dominates.

Ours just kicked the can last night. Getting a whirlpool. Current one was a Frigidaire but I'm sure the cheapest one the builder could find. It was very loud.

Just some advice, if your dishwasher is starting to fail or not dry properly, REPLACE IT!

I’m rebuilding my dad’s house due to a faulty dishwasher. Heating element shorted during dry cycle while he was asleep and caught the cabinets on fire. Luckily he happened to wake up with his house full of smoke. Within 10 mins the kitchen was engulfed in flames and the house was a total loss by the time the fire department arrived. His only way out was through the kitchen so he was VERY fortunate.

He lost everything including 2 dogs.

Well good news. Called my brother and asked what dishwasher he had. Said he had a similar problem to what ours was doing and he took the spray arms off and blasted the crap out of them with the hose.

Did the same it’s been running fine for one cycle so far. We will see how it goes.

The upper level models promise a much lower level of quietness... The model i got is already so quiet, no need to cough up the extra cash. We really like it

Get a passport. The American models aren't worth it, they're all maintenance with little production. I went with an Eastern European model, but I hear the South American models are great too.
