In regards to wondering about the tricolor appearance: Here are some common colors against the two areas of the EVO pack (tan strap and olive xpac): Tan zipper (I didn't have any tan fabric), coyote, foliage (close to whatever grey SG uses but a tad different), ranger green, OD green.

Speaking about obscene colors (SG colors are not at all obscene), I wish my Scarpa’s and La Sportiva’s came in a little less loud color than this but, oh well, I don’t suppose I’ll be changing my boot brands just because the color isn’t exactly to my liking. To each their own, and I know there are people out there that won’t buy these boots because of the color, but I’m also sure that these companies aren’t hurting because it.

I just bought a grey 5900 on the EVO frame. I admit I thought about the colors for like 10 minutes, but in the end function won out. The tan R3 5900 does not have the waterproof XPac on the bottom and against the frame.

I think the combo looks fine, but I'm a fan of large blob outline breakup camo like ASAT and Predator anyway.

Here are pics of the combos.

Its ok to prefer certain colors. Those that say color doesnt matter, would you wear a pink pack? I would hate having a pink pack. Same for boots and clothes, etc. If you are going to buy it, it is nice to have it exactly as you want.

As for the question of why cant SG make each item in different colors, you have to ask them. I used to not care for the Grey. It grew on me and now I really like it. Lucky me I guess

That’s pretty much what public forums are for. Collective bitching.

I would rock the hell out of a hot pink pack btw

I bet pods8 could get you all situated with a helluva hot pink pack bag. But would it match the frame though?

A Stone Glacier pack in all X-pac vx-07 or Vx 21 would be bad ass....any neutral color would work for me in that fabric.

If you are picky about the color you can call the best pack builder alive, Dan McHale and he will make it out of anything you want...he will even custom dye it. I've done a little dying to mine....red of course. /grin

Looked in the mirror lately? Try taking your own advice. There are hundreds of thousands of other posts on Rokslide and millions elsewhere online. If you aren't reading what you prefer, deal with it or take your business elsewhere. Don't come here and bitch about it.

If ya can’t beat ‘em join ‘em. Hell, I even went out and bought a pink shelter to match my yellow and orange boots!

If SG would now just come out with a purple pack, I’d be all over it! What better way to complete my rainbow and celebrate diversity.

OP you can always do like I did and throw together your own setup I did a Kifaru/exo frankenpack build. Turned out really cool and a few folks now run them. Just know your only limited by your own creativity.

I also have a thread where I threw Kuiu Icon Pro bags on a Kifaru Frame.

Have fun with these =) 3 years later I still get PM's about doing this and others wanting to try it out =)

I would also purchase an X-pac fabric pack, plenty tough, highly water resistant and lighter than 500d

You’d think someone insulted some of your mothers with the way you get all bent out of shape with criticism directed at SG.

It could have been directed at Hostess Ding Dongs for all we care. You'd think SG insulted the original poster given the title of this thread. Manufacturer or product doesn't matter at all.......it's the semantics of the rant.
