Why don't you tell Zakk Wylde that his guitar colors don't matter - color doesn't make it sound any better or make you play better!! Stop being a skirt Zakk!!

Dimebag Darrell, Kirk Hammett, Dave Mustaine...... all a bunch of primadonnas using colored guitars!

More like a bunch of people I've never heard of, nor care to hear of. I'm sure they had the choice of whether to buy their guitars or not before they laid the money down.......just as you do with a pack. If SG doesn't meet your or your wife's needs.......move on to another brand. Problem solved. Next.

Everyone seems pretty bothered by this but I don't really get why either way. Yea I agree their packs do not offer great colors, and that it is a shame. There are of course other companies that offer better/matching colors for their packs.. but its always annoying to find the function you want in something and not the look you want.

I don't buy ugly guns either.

Not necessarily directed at the OP....................but I feel bad for some of these manufacturers....they just can't win.

They make a quality product...oh but then its too expensive...or the wrong SOMETHING...you just can't make everyone happy these days.

Of course if they say send us our product back and we will refund...JUST STOP WHINING....then all heck would break loose.....

I don't own one or am affiliated with SG but in this case....a top quality pack maker gets a thread that starts with "Disgusted"...a little harsh don't you think?

My wife hikes with me...hikes hard too. Her boots take a beating. When she needs new boots she worries about fit and comfort, but I will GUARANTEE you she isn't buying a pair of boots she doesn't like for style or color....no matter how nice they are. That's how it should be and that's how it is in her world. It's not how I necessarily do it, but I'm fine with people having their preferences for how their clothing and gear looks. So yeah...I'm backing the OP in terms of get her what she likes. A pack she thinks looks silly is a pack she won't enjoy as much. If a pack mfr doesn't offer what you/she wants then pass them right up and keep going.

I suppose a little rant is nothing new here, but SG seems to have a pretty good reputation and following. You walk into any bar and insult their favorite beer....some jeers are bound to happen.

Wow tough crowd. I'm sure you've out a lot of time and effort into researching packs and this has everything you want...but the one caveat is fortunately one that doesn't effect performance.
For that much money you should have an option of boobies and beers all over it!
Where you do lose me though is that it's not for you. That's where I think people are getting the idea of caring too much about looks.
Think if it this way, with that ugly grey, if you're wife sees any other hunters in the back country, they won't be oggling her as if it was a kick-ass matching set up. You're welcome

You’d think someone insulted some of your mothers with the way you get all bent out of shape with criticism directed at SG.
Good thing smart business people don’t take criticism like that because its a recipe for failure.

I'm not complaining because I just want to "cry and whine" and have nothing better to do. I will stand behind Stone Glacier and say that their packs are the best out there - that's why I haven't moved on to somebody else. I like SG the best. I don't want anybody else's pack. I have looked - I don't like anybody else's features.

There are three reasons I made this post:

1. I would like to see some pictures of what the tricolor pack looks like. Hey, it might look great.

2. I know that SG is loosing business because of something as trivial as color. That may be a calculated and accepted business decision and I'm sure it was necessary in the early stages of the business due to finances. I understand that. I think it is highly likely that the folks down in Bozeman will read this thread, if they haven't already found it. My thoughts were that if a bunch of people would express similar interests, SG might see it and the consumer could be happier and SG could increase their sales. Win win. (Hence the use of my strong, attention getting, I gotta read this title)

3. I genuinely would like to know how hard it is to make products in different colors. They already have multiple fabric colors in their facilities (black, coyote, foliage, "evo green", and "evo tan"). I wouldn't think it would be that hard to swap some fabric around.

I think much of the blowback is due to the title of thread- “Disgusted....”

maybe something of the lines “would anyone be interested in different colors for SG” or “sure wish SG was offered in a variety of colors”

maybe there is still time for the OP to edit the title

If they start offering different colors, then they're going to have to expand and spend more on materials. The cost of packs will inevitably increase. I don't mind my pack as is, and I would hate for the next SG I buy to be more expensive because Mugatu wouldn't include gray in the Derelicte collection.

For the record, I’m not particularly good at planning or hunting. I AM good at forming amateur psychological theories in an effort to procrastinate at the office.

The procrastination has been going on so long that it is all subconscious now. It will take years of amateur psychological self analysis to figure that out, and then maybe you will have the capacity and ability to get better at both planning AND hunting.
