people have been 'detained' in the usa for having an ar mag with no ammo in it....
Stay where you are free or suffer the consequences. Unfortunately that's getting to be a pretty narrow window.
One other thing, do not keep your luggage pieces in your reloading room near your bench. That can make for a bad situation if they do an explosives check.
I won’t fight your for that plane ticket!
I’m with you. I’ve been to every continent and multiple countries on most of them. Probably 150 islands to boot.
I don’t care if I never leave the US again. There’s not another country on Earth as geographically diverse or beautiful as the U.S.

Any bag of mine that's used for shooting trips and general traveling trips is completely emptied and checked before it gets packed to go on a plane. It's habit for me to empty my entire bag before a trip to ensure there's no hidden knives, ammo, or spare guns. I used to shoot and travel more frequently than I do now, so that was just a formality of getting ready for a trip.
Given how economically reliant Turks & Caicos is on US tourism, I doubt it. Likely just making a statement with an anti-gun law that seems overzealous by US standards.Given the number of cases of this happening recently, I'm starting to wonder if it's an attempt to have something to shake down the US government. Send us a few million, we'll stop imprisoning your citizens.
My God I'm getting cynical...
Same sort of thing happened to me. I had a fully loaded glock 26+2 mag in a backpack I used for work. My truck had to go into the shop so I threw my gun and mags into my backpack when I got my loaner and carried on with life. You have to wonder. Took my nephew on a trip once, TSA missed the 8 45ACP rounds in a magazine in grand junction. We were making the connection in SLC when he finds it in his backpack. Kept the mag, threw out the ammo.
TSA never said anything about the empty mag on the return trip either.
I did not read the story, but how the hell did they get by TSA???
