Daylight Savings Time

Just to clarify, the switching back and forth is annoying. I would prefer making daylight savings into the standard. I wouldn't care if sun up happens at 9, but light in the evenings is nice.

I wonder if the desire for full-time standard primarily comes from folks in southern latitudes and westerly portions of time zones. Long summer evenings are payback for the lack of daylight all winter.

Regardless of what time we set the clocks to, eventually we'd adjust our schedules to work with it. I just don't see why we need to change the clocks twice a year?

It does suck to have to get up in the middle of the night to make it to my spot
before daylight.

The shift in one hour is not as annoying as the overall natural light shift into winter.

What is annoying is being in a place you love on the equator like Kenya and having the sun set like a lightswitch every day at 6-6:30. No long evenings till 9 and that everlasting twilight. You get spoiled for those in northern latitudes.

I hate switching back and forth. I would rather stay on standard time. I’m a morning person and like to get up early and get things done before it gets hot in the summer. It would get dark here in the summer about 8:30 instead of 9:30. If you have young kids you would love for it to get dark at bedtime and then the older ones wouldn’t have to stand outside waiting for the school bus in the dark in the mornings. I could care less about it affecting hunting time.

Would rather have the sun after work. No matter the time of year always go to work in the dark in the mornings. Would be nice to have an hour in the evening to at least do something. Now the sun set is 5:15. Hard to get any work in with the dog in the evening.

Boy that’s the truth. I spent some time in the Philippines and every day it was dark at 6:30. Made me really appreciate living in Idaho

It was a bit of a joke. Yesterday the sun came up at 9:45. Today 8:45 and in a few weeks it’ll come up around 10:00 am. It doesn’t make any sense at all.

I don’t mind it, but my phone totally screwed me this morning with it. Yesterday- Alarm set for 530, worked great yesterday, time for breakfast, get ready drive to hunting spot just as it was getting light. Today- alarm set for 530, eating breakfast looking out the camper window and I’m thinking, damn it’s getting really bright out there, hour late to hunting spot.
