I just recently bought a CVA Scout in 243, 20” blue, standard, non takedown, to carry on the 4 wheeler and truck when checking pasture fences. After I cleaned and degreased everything I can’t find out what to torque the two screws that holds the fore end in place.
Would anybody know the correct torque for those screws? I emailed CVA last week and they haven’t responded.

Thanks

I honestly dont think that matters much. As long as the barrel and action are tight together and dont move the handguard just needs to be snug. The take down model handguards wiggle a little bit.

Thanks. After cleaning I torqued them at 20 in/lb. but I’ll back off and just snug them down.
I was wondering because accuracy hasn’t been that good while developing a load. It’s still new with approx. 40 rounds through it so far.

I have the same rig in 243, and I too have had a hard time getting it to group.

Haven't had much time to tinker, so don't have any solutions for you. But figured I'd let you know you're not alone.

Very interesting.

I have a 6.5CM CVA Scout and it’s shot Nosler BT’s & Hornady ELD’s well ; .6-1” for 5 at 100 yards for reference.
The gun did not like TSX or TTSX bullets At ALL.

Not sure what your accuracy is at currently or what your expectations are out of the gun. I’d try some different bullets if you haven’t already.

Thanks for the replies.
I continued trying different components for almost a year, on and off, but the accuracy was never consistent. Too much time, money and components were wasted on that thing.

I traded it off for a new Ruger Super Wrangler revolver and don’t regret it one bit. I didn’t even look back when I left the shop.
