Cutting a Tikka factory stock

Who's cut one off to shorten the length of pull? Are the screw holes in the stock long enough to lose about 3/4" of pull and still hold a pad?

I cut the synthetic stock 1” and it still screwed in but the factory pad looked really funky because it doesn’t match up well at that point.

I’m down to 11.5” LOP didn’t have an issue. Used a grind to fit pad worked great.

I'd do a grind to fit too. I just wanted to know that it wouldn't have to be a jimmy rigged thing with trying to glue a wood block in the stock to screw the pad to.

If I remember correctly they are about 2-3” long.

I think I screwed into the plastic pillars but did add a smidge of glue too

I cut this one real short for my daughter not sure the length but it's the same as a savage rascal there's still plenty left to put screws in but I just have a slip on pad on it

I've used the same pad on rifles in the past. Good for the money and easy to work.
