Cut on Contact Head Rec's

Any recommendations for cut on contact heads for elk that are high quality but don't completely break the bank? Iron Wills look great buy man are they expensive...only other one I'm really familiar with is the Magnus Stingers (which from everything I've read is considered a pretty darn good broadhead itself...).

As I do my due diligence on researching cut-on-contact heads I'm wondering what else is out there that Roksliders like..

Take a look at the Evolution Outdoors Jekyll. Bonus is if you use a Mechanical for other critters, it's the same ferrule.

Magnus is good. Black hornets are a little wider if you're concerned about blood.

QAD exodus are also solid, but they aren't exactly cut on contact in the way I think you mean it.

I've heard Simmons are decent and they make several weights and blade shapes if you're playing with arrow weight and FOC. https://www.simmonssharks.com/

Grizzlystiks makes both single and double bevel, but they're pretty expensive too.

I've been shooting SlickTrick Vipertricks. More affordable, and have punched through back of scap and nearside+farside ribs on different bulls with no complaints from me. Only downside is if you hit bone you'll probably have to replace the blades, but those aren't too expensive either.

I have used two types on elk. G5s and T locks.

prefer the t locks flight wise but the G5s held up better on bone and penetrated deeper.

I never got to kill an elk with one but I like the Magnus Stingers on deer. If you're interested in single bevels, Magnus now has those for a nice price.

Magnus Black Hornets for the win. For us they fly great, spot on out to 65. One thing about any Magnus head unconditional warrantee.

Magnus…. Stingers, Buzzcuts, or Black Hornet. They fly great!

Kudu Point. They are my #2 fixed blade. They are a single bevel with a bleeders. They are not expensive, easy to sharpen and work well.

For elk in particular, I am not a fan of any head with thin, razor blade type blades that will bend or break. Plus, those types of heads rarely survive a shot and are pretty much disposable.

The Kudu isn't as hard and tough as the IW, but it's good enough to go in my quiver. I've killed deer, bears and elk with it.

Yep....great heads. I have a 20 year track record with those.

Though I have been using the cheap 2 blades lately in my Recurve....
