Finally starting to load a bit for it. A comfortable 2770 fps with a Berger 185vld-h. Factory Hornady was hit or miss if I was in the rifling or not, pretty short throat in the Serengeti chamber. Fit and function, along with sound with the ultra 7 screwed on is pretty awesome.

Only able to get down to 2.5lbs on the triggertech primary, so a new trigger may be in order.

Still think I need a thousand 180 elite hunters for this rifle.

Rifle is a hammer. It’s quickly become one of my favorite hunting guns to shoot, even with a 10x swfa on top of it.

Initially though the 3006 was a good idea because of lack of knowledge, then went to regretting my decision on cartridge, and rifle weight. But all said and done this rifle is awesome. 11lbs, easy to shoot, decent ballistics out of 185s. Hard to have regrets when your making spots on targets at distance that makes the impacts all look like one.

Last post from me on this, but wanted to finish it out. No regrets on cartridge or builder on this one.

Ohh and there’s just something about the sound of 06 brass ejecting that brings back memories.
