I’ve been using cheaper hiking/hunting boots for quite some time and finally decided to get a more high-end boot. I settled on the Western River by Crispi. After reading a lot of reviews on how great they are and how little, if any break in period is needed, I wore them on a short hike and then decided to really test them out. I did a 20 mile shed hunt and my feet have never been so sore. Minus general soreness, swelling, and a couple of mild hot spots under my big toes, my left Achilles felt destroyed after about mile 5. I can’t figure out why it’s just my left foot. I wanted to see if anyone else has experienced this with any of their boots? I came from a very comfortable Vasque boot and would go back but the lacing eyelets were made of cloth and eventually ripped. I’ve read the stock insoles on these Crispi’s suck, so I’ve considered getting new ones- any suggestions on what type? Also I’ve never had a boot this tall before. Wondered if that’s contributed at all to the pain. Thanks for any input and I apologize if this has already been brought up.
