Crazy Used ATV Prices-Is This Regional or Everywhere?

Ive bought a lot out Canada. Heavy equipment and four wheelers. The US dollar gets a lot further.

Anybody have a reccomendation on where to buy maintenance supplies for ATVs?

Lubes, filters, etc.
I just watch the internet. Prices change all the time. I get most of my stuff from Ebay or amazon. Local guys are out of their mind for oil and filters.

Update from OP: still haven’t found anything.

Had a newer Honda lined up and got ghosted. Had another potential and dude didn’t have title. Lucky I’m in no rush and don’t have to buy.

There’s a nice 2013 Polaris for sale for around 4K that seems to be the most reasonable thing currently.

On an older atv...thats not something that would bother me one bit
I know some states don’t have title requirements. Mine does. I’ve been down the road before with a dirt bike and while not overly difficult, not something I will willingly do again. Easy enough for owner to deal with it prior to selling.

Don't worry, not another "what ATV should I buy" or quad vs. SXS thread.

I've been casually looking for a quad, and haven't seen anything in the realm of what I would deem a good deal, or even reasonable. I'm in western WA, and after wading through the scams, the guys with no titles, and other trash, the majority of what I'm seeing are 15-20 year old machines in the 4-5K realm.

Is this the new norm, and is this everywhere?
Also from WA, AZ seems to be the place for cheap SXS used. Probably quad too. Everything here is just plain ****ed

Crazy prices still persist. I bought a ‘07 Polaris Ranger for $4500 in 2019. Judging by what is see just casually watching the used market I’m fairly sure I could sell it for more than I paid.
Glad you finally found a deal, OP.

Big bump. I have been looking for a Honda on FB Marketplace and I might as well go to the dealer.

Holy crap, 10 years old and 2k+ miles for $5k? New normal? I can buy the same machine for 8k OTD new.

If you’re not looking for something specific, shop for something a little older.

I bought a 2003 rancher last fall with new seat, new tires and new carb for $1300.

Yeah I scoured 500 miles over the last 2 weeks and $1300 would get you a non running one around here.

Lots of 15 year old machine sitting around 5k that look clapped out. Guys that want MSRP for their 5 year old machine.

Edit: Just checked WV marketplace. Not sure whats going on out here but might as well drive my truck to WV and pick one up.

I ahve also been wathcing for a 4 wheeler or SxS but am not willing to throw a fortune at them.... part of the problem is that i dont have a good feel for models and brand names. So when i see one hadvertised, i don't have any idea if that is a decent atv or not.

Depends what you want one for. Like most things.

I wouldn’t get a trail model like a Honda talon and try to do a Jeep trail with one. They’re tippy.

They also don’t have enough ass to be comparable to a x3 or something like for performance either. Which is great if you’re trying to cover distance.

I can tell you from personal experience that a X3 doesn’t have a ton of space for hunting unless you get a 4 seater and use the back seats for storage.

Something like a roxor is like a Jeep CJ and LJ had a baby in a sxs configuration with a diesel engine. They simply cost what they cost.

When you want a good laugh look at used Yamaha TWs, everyone wants exactly what they paid for it, with thousands of miles on them. It’s so bizarre.

I'm in Long Beach Ca. We are getting ready to list our (purchased new) 2007 Suzuki King quad 450 for sale. We are no longer using it due to getting a RZR turbo-s 1000. it is very clean.
PM if interested.

My brother just sold an 02 Polaris 500 Sportsman for 2900 last week. He bought it brand new and put about 2200 miles on it. If I remember correctly, it was about 4800 out the door when he bought it.

I have a 2001 Polaris 425 Expedition. I bought it new in 2001. I have used the heck out of it. Starts immediately every time still. Cost me 700.00 two years ago for new tires. Still looks reasonably good. I cant sell it because it would cost me 7-8k to duplicate it with a new one. If i were to sell it, i would ask 4-5k for sure. Shaft drive and 4WD. Just costs too much to replace it.
