Coronavirus Shutdown Ideas

Raising boys.
Raising food (chickens/eggs).
Growing boys.
Growing food (winter garden/prepping for summer garden).
Training (hiking/weights/yoga).
Baking bread.
Making ammo.
Shooting ammo.
Eating bread.
Drinking beer.
Cooking on the Disco (Deeesco)
More training.
Getting ready to hunt turkeys.
Getting ready to hunt shed.

More quarantine please:).

Drop the Yoga and that might could have been a (pre Garth era) Bocephus hit.

Yesterday I spent several hours going through my bee hives. Wore my Wrangler pants and got stung so many times on my legs that I lost count. 20 plus times at least. My hives are fairly strong so I’ll be doing splits and requeening shortly.
I’m about to build me a firewood shed.
I’m in the process of getting two mules so I’m working on setting corner poles and stringing barb wire. Then building stalls.
Got to drop a few trees so will be cutting and splitting firewood.
Just weed and feed my yard a couple days ago. Going to seed my back property for my mules to nibble.
My gym closed down so I’m back to my ‘junkyard gym’ which I have set up behind my barn. I can throw weights and cuss in the junkyard gym without getting kicked out.
Of course I’ll be crappie fishing and mushroom hunting the next couple months.

Pickled some heart I had in the freezer. Might do some eggs too.

Reading, spending way too much time on Gunbroker. Started application process to Sonora Desert Institute of Firearm Technology. At home workouts. Cleaning and then recleaning my guns.

Gonna order some stuff/parts for my FJ80 Landcruiser, play/work on it.

Doing the same thing for my FJ60. I’ve had it for 17 years. Tried to put on a dual battery (low budget version) system a couple weeks ago and fried a bunch of my electronics. I.E. no taillights, no blinkers, and no AC blower fan. Think I have a grounding issue somewhere too.

Ordered those parts and that’s all that’s keeping it from getting back to being inspected and road worthy. Needs new bucket seats and a SORseat cover for the rear to be mostly done on the interior. Need to pony up for new front seat belts too.

Shed hunt, reload some ammo, shoot rifle, shoot bow, get turkey hunting gear ready, cut wood, get lawnmower ready...

Prep’ing brass tonight with plans on loading up 250 rounds of 300 blackout tomorrow. Gonna load some .375 H&H too, just for the hell of it.

I don't have a ton of extra time on my hand, working from home all week. But, making the most of it.

Stocked up on lump charcoal for the kamado, going to do some low and slow all day cooks and braises that I can't when I'm at work. Have a bunch of shanks and a couple deer shoulders in the freezer that need cooking.

Making a sourdough starter, going to try to get a good recipe and bake some good bread.

Throw in some reloading and fishing along with getting out on the mountain bike, staying in shape, catching up on minor projects, and all the normal stuff.

Realistically - I've got too many projects and hobbies and there's a lot I won't get done...

What year is your 60?

Pulled out 4 lbs of Halibut and canned 14 pints of Fish Chowder yesterday. Only a few packages left from 2018 so I’ll get that canned up shortly.

Hoping to start back filling the freezer with trout and Kokes this week if they don’t close the mountain passes.

Literally did the same thing 👍

I've got a pork butt on the pellet grill right now. Gave up homebrewing a few years ago...5 gallons is a lot of beer to drink for one without getting fat, especially when you enjoy the process as much as the finished product. Might go to a one gallon set up one of these days but I have too many hobbies.

I was told last week to expect working from home in the long term so I need to find some things to do for entertainment.
