Were released again in Pitkin county, in direct contradiction to the wolf management plan, are still killing livestock. Now they are trying to kill one of the wolves. Entire thing has been a joke from the get go.

Absolutely embarrassing what’s happened to one of the greatest state wildlife organizations hopefully one day we’ll break the curse.

Why should we make it hard on our beef producers? Acting like unlimited wolves will be good for anyone or anything is incredibly silly.

Why should people have to protect livestock from predators? We spent thousands of years doing that and finally got rid of them. I suppose you would be okay with allowing ranchers to guard their herds with lethal force? I can think of worse jobs than being a shepherd or cowherd living out under the elements with a herd, but not many.

Why reintroduce? If Colorado was a good place for wolves to live they would have found it on their own but probably not from Oregon.
Wyoming is supposedly a terrible place to be a wolf but they are still there along with the livestock.

Heck the woof that was “supposedly” shot, there is a 50 or 80k bounty if it leads to an arrest, people have no clue how nuts it is here…

This...is not correct. We regularly deal with coyotes, bears, and lions in and around livestock. Wolves have to be handled by the state unless caught in the act. If you have a depredation you have to have the state come out and 'prove' it was a wolf; and there is a lot of pressure from the head shed at CPW/governors office that does not want any depredated livestock to be classified as a wolf kill.

How would you react if the state came out to an obvious wolf kill and told you that they can't call it a wolf kill until you find the leg bone that's missing (while almost ignoring the entire carcass of evidence at their feet)? Oh and the evidence points to that wolf having pups too. Oh and you already have a wolf hazing permit, fox lights, livestock guardian dogs, and you ride to check your cows daily?

This isn’t too far from on the ground reality in Colorado. Many of the most involved and vocal wolf activists have direct ties and influence in the Governor’s office. If you have ever been to a CPW Commission meeting you quickly realize how extreme and radicalized many of the wolf activists really are. I don’t blame ranchers for being concerned about retaliatory action against them, their families, or their property if they kill a wolf defending themselves or their property. If their name got out they would have all those crazies from Denver-Boulder coming after them.

Unfortunately most of this was predicted years ago. Most wolf activist idea of getting out, is from their Audi to the Starbucks line. Hell, take a look at our "wildlife" commission. This state is in serious trouble. The liberal "good idea fairies" have been hard at work lately. What better way to take out the Colorado beef industry and hunting opportunities with "wolves gone wild" reintroduction.

I am hoping the next ballot we can get the Grizz going strong again!
