Colorado Wolf dies within RMNP

Which is nuts because death by wolves is so much more violent and painful. They don't care about the animals, they just hate us.
Yep, none of it makes sense to us, just like none of what we do makes sense to them, one of us is living in another simulation… my bet is the answer would be crystal clear if grocery stores emptied out and power was off for about week… one way of thinking is only possible because of the razor thin idea of civilization and civility backed up our insane comfortable lives with god like creature comforts…. If anyone wants to know the correct way to fold your tri point tin foil hat let me know ;)

You keep folding it until it's a round ball and throw it in the trash.
Yep… I remember about 5-6 years ago when I was yammering on about how this was the ultimate goal for wolf reintroduction, got a substantial amount of push back even from hunters with my “wild conspiracy theory”

Yep. This is the anti’s play book. Lots don’t want to believe it but that is their 100% stated end goal. No death of animals by the hand of man
From Rewilder NGO Earth.org:

The presence of top carnivores in an ecosystem not only holds ecological value but serves an economic and social purpose to humans. Rewilding, or more specifically trophic rewilding, is shedding light on the importance of predators and providing evidence of their benefits. The results will also help to advocate for the protection of existing trophic chains that are regulated by their top predator.

"The results will also help to advocate for the protection of existing trophic chains that are regulated by their top predator."

This means advocating for the end of deer, moose and elk hunting

Are 100% of the folks vegans pushing this stuff or do they somehow think its better for folks to eat factory farmed meat than hunt free range animals? That is the part that has seemed bizarre about all this cause I don't think they are all vegans, I am sure many are but not universal. The latter group I just can't figure out. I disagree with the former but at least its logically consistent.

My whole life I've only debated with one real vegan. I have to give vegans credit, if they're living what they preach I respect that and that's what I told this guy. We had a great conversation and he wasn't even anti-hunting he was just trying to get some of us to try to reduce meat consumption some. It's the ones who scream about hunting animals and then toss half a hamburger in the trash because it didn't have enough sauce on it that tick me off. Zero respect for animals but sit on a fake high horse thinking they have some sort of moral superiority because they "love animals" enough to 'fight for them." I bet half of them think a hamburger patty is grown in a lab behind the grocery store and doesn't come from killing a cow because they're so disconnected.

The mental math that views humans as somehow in charge of the food chain yet outside of it is advanced… seems a lot of people forget we are part of the eco system just like worms and trout and rabbits and bears

Yeah man makes 0% sense to me. You are right there are definitely some that eat meat im not sure how they rectify their worldview… maybe they just don’t think about it? It is an alternate timeline thats for sure… yeah the vegans do at least have somewhat of a coherent view that they try to live out…

Lots of people would love for the lab meat to be a reality (bill gate types) it’s always funny to me with the vegans that they are desperate to make “fake meat” like their best food is just imitation meat 🤣 seems though that most people have little to no interest in vegan meat or lab meat, esg policies were propping up the impossible meat type companies they are not doing well. Even in Denver I have witnessed smaller and smaller vegan sections over the last few years

A guy I knew raised a small about of hogs for a while and one time a lady who had ordered X amount of pork wanted to meet the pig. He was confused but over the series of the conversation this lady apparently thought pork was somehow taken off a pig without killing it, like picking vegetables or sheering a sheep or something. She apparently was so disconnected she did not realize meat was dead animal muscles.

Honestly this is probably way more common these days, the average American is far far removed from the food chain…

When I was in Jr High in 1987, we had a retired Idaho CO as a long term substitute teacher. This was when reintroduction was being talked about in Idaho. His words were exactly the same. " Ending hunting is their end game, we think in short term. They are playing the long game" As a 12 year old kid, you never really think about that, but I believe he was spot on.

Regarding man's place in the food chain and wildlife management, this was addressed in a book written a long time ago. Genesis 1:26 - Then God said, "Let us make mankind in our image, in our likeness, so that they may rule over the fish in the sea and the birds in the sky, over the livestock and all the wild animals, and over all the creatures that move along the ground."
