I don't mean to downplay the impact to human lives in any way, we can all agree the loss in that arena is tragic. However, what is the additional impact to wildlife, habitat, etc? An old coworker sent me a video of the helicopter flooding survey that passed over the ranch we used to work just outside Estes Park. It looked more like a mud ski resort. I couldn't help but think of the pastures under that mudslide where I used to watch the elk duke it out during the rut. Have they started discussing the wildlife impact yet?

Thoughts and prayers go out to anyone eperiencing loss due to the recent flooding.

Thanks Dean. Yeah its crazy out here. We where unaffected as we live on a hill out towards the West side of Denver but all around in other areas are heavily impacted. They are calling this the 1000 year flood of biblical proportions. Nothing has ever been seen like this. The rain was just intense. Ended my hunt early thats for sure. HEading back out this weekend as the weather is looking great now.

I think it might push some of the animals that hang on private ground out. I would also think it would change up some of the travel corridors and bedding grounds. I think if you can get out this weekend and hunt next to the flooded areas then you might get a chance at animals you other wise wouldn't see. Just don't put your life at risk for it.
