The 2015 brochure is up. Looks like they reduced tags in some locations, added more in others and added female only tags in a couple. I haven't followed this every year so maybe that much change is relatively normal. They reduced the tag number in the area where I planned on applying so we'll see what 12 points will do for me.

Thanks for the heads up. I'm due for a tag again one of these years.

I've got enough pints to have a chance - about like that line from Dumb and Dumber " so you're saying there's a chance!" Never hunted goats in CO before so what should I be looking for? Which units should I avoid? ( crossed Mt Evans off the list due to hikers). Any good resources y'all could recommend to get me started? CPW info a bit lacking IMO. Not looking for a trophy just want to have an enjoyable hunt if I get lucky and get a tag!

How does the CO draw for goats work? Is it not like deer or elk where the tags go to those with the highest points.

It's a lottery system. People with the highest amount of points "have a better chance." But it's no guarantee as sometimes people with less points draw. Boils down to its a lot of luck

They added some units that strike me as a little bit odd; namely G18. I bet you'd have a hard time finding a mountain goat in that bit of wilderness after a whole summer of scouting... I'll see come June....

Got a 9 1/8" goat in G11 2009. This is the first year I can start applying again. Took 10 years to get the last tag.

Gonna apply. First year I will be in the draw. Still deciding where? Any advice? Not wanting a late season hunt due to time off work? Bob.

Applied for my first time this year. I just choose all of the archery hunts and one rifle. It it takes 10 years to draw I'm in no danger of drawing which is good since I have no idea what I'm doing.

Just be aware in some units you can only hunt weekdays. Hunters are very scary to weekend hikers.

I was looking at an area that I already know is a weekday hunt only.. but with reduced nanny tags wondering if anyone has thought about the trends in people following new areas that offer more tags? Just wondering? Bob.
