Colonoscopy....

A Dozen? Christ...are you 154 years old? Every 5 years after 50, No?
Colarectal cancer at 37. Be 50 in June. The first year they were in there 3 times at least. Then every year after that. For whatever reason, my body makes polyps. Last time I went three years without one (that's what i was told) and when they went in, I was loaded with them. One so large and concerning that after the doctor removed it, he tattooed the spot so he could pay better attention to it in the future. It was benign thank God.

He asked why I hadn't been back in three years and I told him my followup instructions. He was pissed...really pissed. He said he wanted me there every year.

I live a very healthy life style, eat really good and don't drink much at all. I don't know...just how I was built. It isn't genetic...as far as they know.

I've also had thyroid and skin cancer, which wasn't horrible. But I have to follow up regularly on both of those.

For people in the first responder world, there is a big push to start at 40. Really high rates of GI cancer.

I've had several people I've gotten yo know that have died be abuse of the same cancer I had.
