For 2026, it's again 3-arrow, broadhead-only challange (expandables counted as broadheads)

I'll be updating prizes on the Challenge Thread over the next few weeks, hint: Grand Prize rhymes with “Ice”

Also, we’re gonna use this opportunity to help Colorado in their fight against the Fur Ban (here).

I’m still working on the details but suffice it to say, if you can make the meeting in Grand Junction May 6 or 7 (TBD) , you can get an extra entry in this challenge and, if you’ll shoot the @CO Backcountry Precision Archery Course in Gypsum ($25 course fee waived for Roksliders), you get another entry! Anyone who shoots the course Th-Sun (May 7th-10th) and provides a DM with a pic of himself at the course will have a spot held even if we pass 100. Just DM me or @realunlucky if the thread is locked and we'll open up a spot for you, plus give you the extra entry for participation. Full rules on the Challenge Thread (HERE).

Well nuts… I’ve completely shot out all my broadhead targets. And haven’t had the short term funds to replace them yet. Given my success in winning these prizes over the years it’s probably for the best though .

Scotty at the muffler shop said there's a good chance he knows a guy who will go for me as tribute. Says he will do about anything for $20.


He might have thought I was talking about something discussing different cats tho.

Said he'd say something next time he was bringing some converters by.

started tracking my “1st arrow of the day” (not the same as Cold Bow because I shoot more than 1 arrow) on January 24th after 3-months off (I know, I’m a lightweight lol)

So far:

11 days shooting
127 arrows total

At 60 yds MER (same as I completed the 2025 challenge at, my best in years), I'm at...

(7) 1st-arrow hits (64% hits)
(4) 1st arrow misses (36% misses)

Today's is below. I posted it to keep with Rokslide spirit of only showing our best groups (right @Jared Bloomgren lol)





Gonna keep working on this until it's go time. Last year I wasn't at 100% hits in my practice sessions but seems like I was close and ended up 3 for 3 hits in the challenge. I wanna do 60 again.

Anyone else practicing these shots yet?

Only indoor stuff so far this year at 30 yards and I just put a new sight on my bow last week. Waiting for an evening that is calm so I can dial in my new sight!

Traditional and Compound shooters are welcome (but there will not be separate divisions). You can shoot both Traditional for three arrows and Compound for three arrows to double your odds, (put all 6 arrows in one post and it's OK to shoot both bows on the same day—this is the only exception to the “1-arrow/day” rule, *except Colorado Fur Ban fighters

I get the feeling, there's as many East coast guys here anymore as Rocky's. So I won't complain, but if I hit a snag lobbying for bowhunting in the East, I'll expect a little help big boy.
