In the Southwest, it was mostly melted off by the end of June -just shady North facing Couloirs are all that’s left. I was moving around at 13k without ever stepping in snow over 4th of July weekend.
In very general terms, East of the Divide was close to average snowpack this year, and thus, is much wetter than West of the Divide which was shy of the average snowpack; drier than normal over there.
West of the divide never came close to average snowpack this year. There are already multiple fires west of the divide. A late season storm saved the east side/front range area.
