Can't you select the print at kiosk option?
I only get the fishing license if I'm successful drawing a big game license. How do I know if I'm successful in May when I want to fish if the big game results aren't known until June?

I didn't realize until a few minutes ago that there is not a fishing and small game license for NR.

The issue isn't that you can't print your fishing license in May, the issue is that you have chosen not to purchase it by that point since there is an annual NR fishing license available today in March?

@sndmn11, the issue is that I don't want to pay $111 for a Non Resident fishing license prior to big game draw results since the NR big game license includes the fishing license. I would essentially be paying for the same fishing license twice if I am successful in the draw. To clarify further, fishing licenses aren't even a qualifying license for big game anyway.

From CPW

"2023 licenses go on sale March 1, 2023 and are valid through March 31, 2024.

Fishing licenses are NOT qualifying licenses for the 2023 big game draws."

We just had this discussion on another thread. I agree that states are making money on the applications even though you are not drawn.
A point a guy made is that individual states get Pittman/Robertson funds doled out to them based on licensed hunters. Having you buy a hunting license in that state is a way that you, every year, become a licensed hunter in that state, and the state receives a greater % of money from the fund.
I may not like it, but I think that's the reality.

When you draw a big game license, is there a separate $111 line item charge for the fishing license?

I didn’t know the big game license came with a fishing license. I had like two afternoons where the guy I was calling for was trying to ambush elk in transition that I could have been catching trout!

But ~$200/yr for multiple correct?
the AZ non-res small game license is $160, it's good for 365 days, which if you pick the correct start day (very last day the draw is open), gives you 2 years of elk/antelope draw applications. The points are $15 each. So, for $190 in 2 years, you can get 2 elk points. You could do antelope for another $30. The other species are drawn on different days, so I don't think you can get the same multi-year use out of a single small game license.

The fishing license also comes with an NonRes OTC tag. You dont have to enter the draw to get the fishing license

You can also just use the Colorado app to get your fishing license so you dont have to carry it or wait in the mail....

In this day and age why would that matter? Not like you have to cut them a check

Lots of guys don’t have a few thousand bucks to float for 2-3 months. They used to do that and changed it 4 years ago. Applications sky rocketed the next year.

I'm one of those guys, yet still applying across the spectrum of western states. Isn't this the exact senerio why credit cards were invented?

Yeah, but you have to pay 18-20% interest and carry it over for 3 months. I’ve never done it, but that was how it was explained to me. 🤷🏻‍♂️

I feel like this information would have been useful a couple weeks ago! Dang it! Thanks for the heads up in the future.

It's not really a year long (365 days) but rather an annual license as in once a year.

Everyone should be buying the turkey license and coming to Colorado to kill thier birds, there's plenty for everyone and they are just ol' stupid Merriams(one step closer to that slam). Another bonus is you could be scouting for your next big game tag. Win Win

Yep ;) 130,000 turkey hunters and 30,000 turkeys, who doesn’t like that ratio?

30,000 and falling - the flock is shrinking across the whole country.
Yeah, from the birds around a spot I go, I think the bobcats, yotes, and lions hammer them, and bears are prolific, I think the fresh eggs are too easy for them … not a great outlook
