For F sake... Day 1 of the new session and the CO dems propose to ban all detachable magazine semi-auto guns with a bunch of Dem sponsors on the bill. Keep in mind ALL the dem senators voted against increasing penalties for firearm theft and possession of a stolen firearm a bit back. It was obvious then they didn't care about law abiding gun ownership while reducing gun crime they wanted to ban guns and here is another stepping stone.

It's never about reducing gun crime, it's only about banning guns.

It is sad to see CO going so far left over the last decade or more. I live in rural Illinois and if it wasn’t for family and roots I’d be a resident of MT or WY right now. Libs will keep taking rights and probing conservatives with BS like prop 127. Hopefully your local law enforcement has your back. When Illinois passed an “assault weapons” ban every household got a letter from the county sheriff, saying that he would enforce absolutely none of it and found it to be unconstitutional. That helped me to feel more insulated from edicts handed down by the state.

Sherifs dont help much. Its the state attorney general who will charge the stores who dont fall in line and so the stores will stop selling and your rights will be infringed.
And your state courts will uphold the laws despite being unconstitutional.
You’ll be mired in years of legal proceedings all the while you’ll be stripped of your rights.

Just ask those of us from Washington.

Just to clarify my comment, the sheriff cannot roll back the laws once they are in place, but they can prevent you from being arrested and facing charges for violating the state law if they choose to not enforce it as is the case in my county.

The vast majority of Sheriffs in Eastern Washington have made public statements similar to this. Basically saying they will not enforce new gun laws that violate 2A rights.

"Shall not be infringed" is so ambiguous.
Good thing that Constitution (y)

Take half the $$$ that's given to "pro-gun" groups
and outbid all the others who buy off the politicians.
Keep the other half and buy more practice ammunition.
Better results guaranteed.

Can we start a West Slope to join Wyoming movement. Fix the draw situation and a bunch of other shenanigans all at once.
You build it...they WILL come. Unless you nip that libby stuff in the bud, the new state will just turn into Calirado also.

Not the best answer. Unconstitutional, anti-freedom laws have to be stopped. Just remember that leftists spread like viruses, and those who leave CO will come to Idaho, Wyoming, Montana etc. this is akin to wanting to defeat ISIS where they are now, not in your own back yard.
Very good point, nothing us accomplished by avoiding the problem. Much easier to fight at the point of attack than after they spread. It seems like once they states have these anti-gun laws they rarely revert back.

How do these stupid laws affect people passing through? Lets say someone from Texas driving to Wyoming? If I am stopped in CO and in possession of my 1911 what happens?
