Choosing a Lightweight Scope - Swaro, Maven or Trijicon

I am trying to decide between these three scopes.

Maven RS.2 2-10x38

Swarovski Z3 3-10x42

Trijicon Accupoint 3-9x40

I already own a Z3 3-9x36 and I am really impressed with it, optic quality is fantastic for such a small lightweight scope. I have heard really good things about the Maven. And it would be nice to have the illumination on the Trijicon.

What do you folks think?

I like Trijicon. I trust their products. I like the tritium illumination. It’s cheaper than the Swarovski right now.

The Maven is probably sold out.

I have the maven and Swaro on model sevens, no performance issues with either one. The glass is better on the Swaro, but there’s quite a price difference. Depending on what it’s going on the maven does seem to have a tight eye box, I wouldn’t want it on something with heavy recoil.

That's good info, thank you. It's going on a .284 Win so it won't be overly stout on recoil. I would still much rather have a more generous eye box.

The only one I've had is the trijicon. I actually have a couple accupoints and the glass is amazing. Coupled with the tritium illumination, you can see much better through the scope in dusk and dark than with the naked eye.

I haven't tried the other Scopes and would like to someday. However, I can definitely say you'll be extremely happy with the trijicon, and the illumination is very useful and doesn't come at a weight penalty in this optic.

You can easily save weight (2-3 oz's) by your mount choice. I've had my Maven in Warne Mountain tech rings, and all my rifles use Warne QD rings (I run thermals on all hunting rifles as well).

I own the Accupoint 3-9, 1-4 (green Triangle) on my lever guns, 2.5-12.5 (green mildot on my .223 bolts);
Maven Rs1.2 STD-MIL on a Benelli Lupo 6.5 and one on my Steyr THB SX .308

The Accupoints are my typical go-to's due to the type of hunting I do, and not wanting batteries. The Maven was bought on a whim last year, and it has performed near flawlessly. All of them are great scopes and have taken dozens of animals. I did have an issue on my Maven after 400 rounds during a bolt rack & dump(fast shooting with my 6.5 Creedmoor (Benelli lupo w/ 10rnd mag and took 4 pigs in about 15 seconds)...it started wandering the zero. I benched it for testing and took pics, sent to Maven, and they promptly sent me a new one.

It now sits on my new STEYR THB SX 16" .308 as my default thermal and hog gun, and still shoots beautifully. It has become a great company to deal with, and now have two Rs 1.2. It is mounted in a Warne 30mm QD Cantilever mounted backward as I need to shift weight toward the rear due to Heavy barrel + Suppressor and plastic stock. Doing this balances the rifle directly on the mag well now. (Total rifle weight with 10rd Mag+ titanium suppressor is 10.8lbs)

I have two of the Swaro 3-10s and could not be happier. Both have been used for many years.

That's 3 nice scopes to pick from. I feel like the illumination system on the Accupoints is the best in the business. And this is coming from a guy that has several Polars and other high end scopes.

The Triangle reticle is fantastic for quick shots on animals especially if they are moving. The standard duplex reticle is probably a better choice for tree stand hunting and/or at a further distance. Either way you can't go wrong.
