Choosing a Lightweight Scope - Swaro, Maven or Trijicon

I am trying to decide between these three scopes.

Maven RS.2 2-10x38

Swarovski Z3 3-10x42

Trijicon Accupoint 3-9x40

I already own a Z3 3-9x36 and I am really impressed with it, optic quality is fantastic for such a small lightweight scope. I have heard really good things about the Maven. And it would be nice to have the illumination on the Trijicon.

What do you folks think?

I like Trijicon. I trust their products. I like the tritium illumination. It’s cheaper than the Swarovski right now.

The Maven is probably sold out.

I have the maven and Swaro on model sevens, no performance issues with either one. The glass is better on the Swaro, but there’s quite a price difference. Depending on what it’s going on the maven does seem to have a tight eye box, I wouldn’t want it on something with heavy recoil.

That's good info, thank you. It's going on a .284 Win so it won't be overly stout on recoil. I would still much rather have a more generous eye box.
 
The only one I've had is the trijicon. I actually have a couple accupoints and the glass is amazing. Coupled with the tritium illumination, you can see much better through the scope in dusk and dark than with the naked eye.

I haven't tried the other Scopes and would like to someday. However, I can definitely say you'll be extremely happy with the trijicon, and the illumination is very useful and doesn't come at a weight penalty in this optic.
 
That's 3 nice scopes to pick from. I feel like the illumination system on the Accupoints is the best in the business. And this is coming from a guy that has several Polars and other high end scopes.

The Triangle reticle is fantastic for quick shots on animals especially if they are moving. The standard duplex reticle is probably a better choice for tree stand hunting and/or at a further distance. Either way you can't go wrong.
 
I am testing a 3-9 Accupoint at the moment on a 7.6lb ULA 338 wildcat that is pushing 220gr bullets at 3100 fps. After installation of a muzzle brake I have chewed through two scopes in short order. I don’t have many rounds on it yet with the Accupoint mounted but it zeroed without issue and eye relief is more than adequate. I believe these scopes to be durable, I’ll be building my confidence with it over the next couple months and if no issues come up I’ll take it elk hunting later this year.
 
I have the maven and have actually not found myself wanting more. It works and does what I want for how I hunt and how I want to use it. It’s also going to be darkest of the 3 just due to lens diameter. In low light settings the swaro may have a slight advantage depending on your age/eyesight.
I have a trijicon 10 mile and really like it but that in a different class.
The weight on that maven is really appealing. I’ve swapped back and forth with a vortex razor LHT when I want light weight setup.
My only negative on the maven is I wish they would offer a more precise ballistic reticle but that’s being nit picky. The 5 MOA hash gets you to right around 350 yards on many calibers.
 
Of your three options I'm buying the Trijicon twice.

What were the first two scopes?
 
Of your 3 options, Swaro will probably be the most optically perfect, Trijcon the more rugged, and Maven the best value. I use both Trijicon and Maven products and am a big fan of the optical quality of both companies. However, curiosity got the best of me and I'm rocking SWFA ultralights on both of my get-er-done rifles. So far, I'm very pleased. Optically, your options are undoubtedly better, but size, weight, durability are just my first priorities. Picking from your 3 options, I'd choose the Maven for the great glass, reticle choices, 1" tube, and low profile classic lines.
 
I have the Maven RS.2 it is tiny. Wouldn’t put it on something with a lot of recoil. The turrets aren’t great, but it did move the reticle correctly on the 243 I was sighting it in on. It would be pretty awesome with a simple reticle like the RS1.2
